There's a nasty stomach bug going around my neck of the woods. My husband caught it first. Then my son got it. Seeing a baby's face covered with puke is an awful sight. Then I got it. Thing is, I had Taco Bell earlier that day and it actually tasted better coming up than it did going down.  Last Friday, I went to drop my son off at the In-Laws for work and found out at the last minute that they, too, were sick with the bug. (My husband tried to call me about it, but my house has a metal roof which makes cell phone reception spotty, at best. My phone didn't even tell me I had missed a call.) So I had to call in ten minutes before I was supposed to show for work. My father-in-law just called to tell me that my sister-in-law is sick again. I have to be at work today at 2pm and that looks like it's not gonna happen. I intend to be gone from that place at the end of the month. Maybe this is the universe's way of telling me to say "fuck it".

Man, this makes me look like I'm spamming, but I got a story for you guys. Gather 'round. There's a NOT Super-Walmart down the road from my house, that I go to for extra things and to kill boredom. (I work in a different one in another town.) I was wheeling my son around when I noticed the jewelry associate was eyeing me like a hawk. Then I noticed other associates were doing the same. Then the assistant manager randomly struck up a conversation with me about my son and asked if I needed help with anything.... Don't know where this is going? Well, there's a girl in electronics who I'm friendly with. She was kind enough to shed some light on things. Y'see there were two shoplifters roaming around the store. They caught one of thieves and demanded he tell them who was with him. Guess whose description the piece of shit gave in order to take the heat off his partner?  Thankfully, the girl in electronics told them that they had the wrong person and they apparently caught the right one. I'm not sure they would have let me just walk out, otherwise. I ain't mad at the workers there. They were just doing their job, but if I ever find out who that worthless motherfucker is who put them on me, he better hope I don't have a baseball bat with me. |

Here's a couple rants. First off...fucking bluetooth controllers. The controllers themselves don't bother me,but rather, the lack thereof. So I was at my local Salvation Army Thrift Shop, when I spotted these neat Rock Band drums for the Nintendo Wii. More Specifically, they are for Rock Band: The Beatles. Well, here at home I have a Guitar Hero: World Tour drum set, also for Wii. This drum set of mine is not in the best condition. The bass pedal is broke, (the GH pedal has been known to be crap) and the single channel phono cable that plugs into the orange cymbal is screwed up. I honestly don't play drum on Guitar Hero that often, and in Rock Band, orange is the bass pedal. Hitting the orange cymbal in Rock Band, just registers as hitting the blue drum pad. So really, it still works fine for me, other than the bass pedal. The this Beatles set only cost $12.45. It came with the drums, and a bass pedal. Didn't come with any sticks, but that doesn't matter, as I obviously have my sticks that game with the Guitar Hero drums. I thought to myself, "Well, Rock Band and Guitar Hero drums all use a single channel phono plug to connect the pedals, so I, in theory, should be able to use this kick pedal on my Guitar Hero set." And so, after searching the shop some more, finding two old PC games I though looked interesting, an EP from a band I like, and an electronica compilation CD, I bought the drums, and those things. (TIMESKIP) Getting home a day later, I try the bass pedal on my Guitar Hero drums. (I left the actual drum part at his house for the time being, as I have no space to store it right now in my room) It doesn't work. It burns out that the pedals for Guitar Hero and Rock Band drums sets work a bit differently internally, making them incompatible with the other games' drums. And that's fair enough, so I have no problem there. So I get back to my friend's house (as I was spending a few days with him at the time.) all psyched to use my new drums to have a jam session with him. He has his own Rock Band drum set, but naturally, I want to use what I just bought. It's a wireless drumset for the Nintendo Wii. So we try and sync it to the Wii, and it doesn't work. So after multiple attempts, and some research on the internet, it turns out that just like the Rock Band guitar controllers, these drums require a syncing dongle to be plugged in to one of the USB ports on the back of the Wii. ....(and here is where the first rant begins) Why are we still stuck in the "Gaming Stone Age"? So yes, the drum set I bought did not come with the syncing dongle either. "No problem, I'm sure I can get one for $10 or so off Amazon or Ebay." I thought. So I check out Amazon. They Have a few dongles for Guitar Hero for PS2 and 3, but none for Rock Band for Wii. So I check Ebay next. Ohhh yes...I found LOTS of the dongle that I need. I found some up for auction, but I looked for the ones with a Buy It Now button. I'm not particularly fond of auctions, as if you aren't careful, the price can easily become unreasonable, and there is always a change someone will outbid you just before the auction ends, and therefore, you don't get what you want/need (kinda both in this case) Wanna see some prices? $38.99, $58.99, $29.99, $59.95, $44.99, and it goes ON and ON like this. Keep in mind, this is JUST for the USB syncing dongle. No drums, no pedals, no sticks. Just the dongle that is REQUIRED to use this drum set. Ebay is a breeding ground for greedy pigs/ Luckily, I found one on auction, with two bids, and the highest bid is $2.99. The auction ends later today, in about 6-7 hours, and the minimal bid I can made is $3.24. Shipping is $3.00 so provided I win, it will thankfully only cost me $6.24 total. I'm going to try and place my bid in the last 30 seconds to hopefully guarantee that I win it. It's completely BS that I have to be railroaded into doing an auction, when I don't like auctions, in order to get a fair price, however. All because people have to be fucking GREEDY and gouge the fucking prices of an item. |

Sony doesn't need a dongle to play with the controllers. It's only to connect your controller to the system initially and to charge it. The only reason XBOX controllers don't need that is because they're powered via AA batteries. Also, the thing with Rockband on the wii needing a dongle is most likely because of Nintendo. They always tend to be a little behind both Sony and Microsoft every console cycle. What makes that more infuriating is that Nintendo seems to not really care about the fact that they're not putting out a quality console when compared to the other 2. They only have first party games going for them. Now on for my rant. I don't have a suitcase. So when I go to my mom's house to visit I just put my clothes in a trash bag. Well, being a large person I have a very limited wardrobe so I can fit all of my clothes into just a single trash bag. I was going to visit my mom for a doctor's appointment she made me for Wednesday. So, in order to just walk out the door when I was ready I put the bag by the door. Well, the trash man ran today while my cousin was cutting the grass. He ran in to grab the trash from the can and saw my bag. Not thinking he grabbed it and now every piece of clothing I have that fits my massive girth is in a landfill somewhere. The only clothing I have left is what I'm wearing now. This wouldn't be so bad if not for the fact that I'm very very very fat. I wear a 6x shirt just to give you reference to how fat I am. So, finding a new wardrobe will be both difficult and expensive. |

Husband has a similar problem even though he's not as big. We got the bill from Sears not long ago. All he bought was pants and shirts. It was nearly $1000

I used to not be as big, but having sit down jobs and not doing any cardio made me gain a lot of weight over 3 years. I'm trying to lose so that I can get back to where I was when I was in high school. I think it's working some since my mom said that I'd lost weight since the last time I saw her without knowing that I was dieting. |

Okay, this one is more of a 'I'm seriously freaked out right now' post rather than a venting post. So, I'm currently living with my mom back in Philadelphia at my old apartment, something I had been wanting for the longest time because I was sick and tired of my dad and my step-mom. I have a job that pays more, and I'm around all of my friends that I enjoy being around, and I have more time to myself since my mom actually knows what working retail is like. Everything would be fine IF I didn't happen to hear that we owe like...1200 dollars worth of back rent, and that my mom has to go to a court hearing because we keep doing partial payments. This time, they actually mean business, and If we don't pay that shit, we're basically kicked out. Now, I just want to point out that we are actually dodging a bullet this time, so there's no possibility of us being homeless or anything. You see, both me and my mom get paid this week, and in addition to that my aunt sending us a bit of cash every now and again because my mom is a single mom, and the payments that come out of my dad's check since the divorce...so we'll literally just be making it. The thing that freaks me out is that if I did not have a job, or if I wasn't getting paid this week, we would be FUCKED. I'm legit putting in an entire paycheck to keep the landlords from knocking on our door (And they need to screw off, they don't do any of the shit that they're supposed to.), and that's gonna come to about 300 dollars. I'll have some leftover, but that's gonna go towards groceries (Which thankfully I get a discount on.) So this is more like...I almost had a damn heart attack rather than us having to scramble around looking for anything we can get to pay this off. But then I got to thinking...(And this is the real rant.) Is this what being a responsible adult is like? I knew about bills and stuff like that, but in today's economy, these situations are more common than not. So how do I know that 10-15 years from now I won't be worrying about the same things my mom is worrying about? Am I gonna overwork myself? Will I even have a decent job? Will I only have to worry about my own expenses to keep in mind, or will I actually have little 'Mini-Diabolics' running around that I need to take care of? ...Man, I had better win the lottery or...maybe one of my ideas hits gold so that'll give me some income, cuz there's no way in HELL I plan on dealing with this years from now. As for now? I'm just gonna go ahead and put in a decent amount towards my current household so that we don't have to deal with this again. It won't really set me back or anything, I just have to save up a bit more than before :3 Anywho, I'll stop whining now, I just wanted to get that out and off of my chest. |

I had surgery for my problem and it only alleviated my symptoms, but it didn't cure me like we hoped. I have extremely horrible treatments to look forward to for the next few months, so I probably won't be online much. I have to cut a lot of personal ties as a result, because I simply won't be able to socialize as much. We were late on some car payments (we lease) but we're otherwise always on time, money's just been tight recently. In order to get a new one, we were asked to get a co-signer, and nobody in the family wants to do it for us. With nowhere else to turn, we asked my brother -- whom we've done so much for -- whom my parents have done so much for -- and he said no. This turned into a large argument and we're no longer on speaking terms with him, to say the least. Actually, a lot of family really screwed us over. We'll have the money to put down next month since we cant' get a co-signer, but we're unsure if they'll give us an extension on the lease until the beginning of next month. (Literally one month from today.) If they don't, we'll have no vehicle. It's not like we're in poverty, so I'm in shock this is happening to us... With the pain from losing a lot of family, my medical issues and the terror to come, and having to basically cut my ties with people...well, I feel terrible. There's my vent. Oh, right.
