Okay, first of all, I feel terrible for venting my frustrations openly for all to see but this has been plaguing my mind for some time now. So I suppose I'll just throw this out there... This isn't all of it, it's just the most prominent thought I have at the moment. Where do I begin... For the pass three months, I've been utterly unhappy with my line of work, mainly due to (From my perspective) not contributing anywhere near enough to deserve the pay rate I am currently setup with.(I get paid sixteen dollars an hour, working for twelve hours a day) To get an Idea of what I do... I just rig material for an overhead crane, and clean around the job site when need be... That's it, and it's maddening to say the least when downtime inevitably occurs. As it turns out, I've been the one keeping my family afloat during the week due to my dad being on salary, and only being paid every two weeks. So it feels like a huge weight on my shoulders, as if I didn't already feel entrenched, especially since I thought I only had to pay my phone bill... It's not that I'm mad that I'm having to help keep our house going, cause I'm more than happy to help... It's just when I found out I'm the sole reason we still have a roof over our heads can be a very stressful thought, y'know? It's just become a wave of negative emotions for me since I don't believe I'm worth such a relatively easy position, and I'll admit I had been selfishly thinking of quitting to do something more worthwhile.(Not to mention when I discovered I had Gout, it's taken a toll on my physical strength, rendering my back in sheer pain even when performing the simplest task, such as lifting a twenty pound box... When before, I could lift a six foot tall shred of angle iron over my shoulder, which weighed two hundred and fifty pounds, give or take everyday in rows) To make matters a bit worse on my end is my dad's been offered his old job back, running a crane for thirty five dollars an hour on the weekends, sounds fine, right?... Not exactly, since this place has been well known to stab it's workers in the back with a load of empty promises, and my mom and sister are scared that he'll just end up being deceived once again.(Believe me, I worked there for two years and I became utterly depressed...) After having a long discussion with my sister about loss of friends and trying to move forward with our lives. She and I talked about our dream jobs, and she recommended for me to take a crane course so I can become a certified crane operator since that's one of the only things that made me feel happy and useful when I was at my first job.(Before the company found out I was running the crane under their noses for four months before they pulled the plug on me being able to run the crane, and progressing enough to become a true operator)

Posts: 1,234 Group: Members Member #1,276 Joined: 08/22/14 Gender Female Location: London, UK	I'm actually no one to talk, but I think you really do have a pretty voice and, as far as I'm concerned (being honest, I merely listened to a couple of your covers― enough to be able to tell, I'd say), you're definitely not a bad singer. Don't beat yourself up for posting your frustrations, especially if it's helping you feel better at all. If I may offer my two cents, I would say to give yourself some more credit, honestly. Your job requires a lot of skill, though I guess anyone can feel like it's not enough once they get really good/experienced at it. It's kinda like second nature to you at this point, right? But yeah, knowing that you're the primary source of income can make anyone feel trapped. Truth be told; it's the one thing stopping me from achieving my own goals. But as you said; you're helping those you care about by contributing, and maybe you should take that course. If it leads to a potential career and a better future, there's no harm in trying, right? If it makes you happy and that's what you wanna do, go for it! :3 EDIT: Almost forgot to vent x3 No more fast food for me, undercooked food is a big no-no.
