Even if you did upgrade your RAM (which I don't think you'll be able to make much use of, it goes up to 8 GB) the problem is going to be that you don't have a dedicated video card (This depends on the exact model. Since I don't have anything to go by, I'll assume you have the model capable of only one HDD). Instead, your GPU is built into your motherboard (meaning it's dedicated). The most you'll be able to modify and see any sort of beneficial result (for gaming, anyways. 8 GB is fine for browsing the internet) would be your HDD. It appears as if you have no PCI or PCIe support at all, depending on the form factor. So in any case, the problem with your computer is that the processor is slow (relatively speaking) and the GPU is bottlenecking. If you have the time, check out exactly what model it is and see if you have PCI and PCIe slots. They should be white on the motherboard and be relatively long. The computer you bought off of eBay is definitely better than the one you just linked. Your current PC only supports DDR2 (as opposed to DDR3, which is a lot faster) and uses a Pentium, where as the eBay computer uses a Core 2 Duo (Which again, is a lot faster). I'd say you'd be better off using the eBay computer either way. |

The GPU you linked would work okay with your computer. If you really don't need to worry about your budget, I would go with an Nvidia equivalent of that card just for PhysX. However, what resolution do you expect you'd be running on? That card would probably only get you to a 5:4 resolution. So as far as I'm concerned, anything above 5:4 is going to be unreachable for the most part, unless you tweak the game using .ini files. |

Hem... sadly the card you have there isn't any better than integrated graphics and definitely won't play Bioshock or anything demanding. It certainly will work @ 250 watts (the card itself will only sip 70 watts peak), but it won't do what you want. sadly, if you want to play anything, you'll have to upgrade the power supply. 250 watts isn't going to power a card worth its salt. You're going to need a 500 watt power supply (about 55 bucks) and a GTX 950 (about 140 bucks) to get the kind of performance you want. Also, if you do eventually decide to get a more powerful CPU/computer, the GTX 950 is decent enough to carry over to the new system. The thing is pretty good at outputting 720 and even some 1080p gaming. Edited by KulaRose, February 15, 2016, 7:23 am.

I agree, although if you're in the price range of the 950, you may as well buy a GTX 960, as it's only about $40 USD more expensive. |

I do agree. The 960 provides significantly better performance at an only slightly more expensive price point. I was just trying to keep the total cost of the upgrade at less than 200 bucks. But if you can flex for $250ish range, the 960 is a better card for only a bit more. Especially the 4GB version, as some 1080p games like breaking the 2GB VRAM barrier this generation. (Cough shadowsofmordor cough). Although I am also keeping in mind that the CPU in that machine will also bottleneck the 950 and 960. Both cards will still do great (and will provide great quality gaming performance for 720/1080p gaming for years to come), so they'll transfer to future machines and builds just fine and not be bottlenecked by the CPU/RAM.
