Morishige's Soliloquy
Topic Started: March 8, 2018, 12:45 am (63 Views)
In the English localization of Blood Drive, Shig's soliloquy in Extra Chapter 01 is just so poetic and seems to work so well with the meter that I'm wondering if XSEED had to sacrifice a lot of the original meaning to achieve it.

Could anyone who has read both versions comment on this?
Has someone already done a direct translation of the Japanese version?

I'm by no means an expert on Japanese, but judging by some articles I've read in the past about the English localization I think it's safe to say that the team took many liberties and deviated quite a bit from the original text. For instance, the excessive profanity in the English version isn't in the Japanese game since many of those words don't translate over to Japanese. And of course Seiko's infamous "butter up my pooper" quote from Blood Covered was very different in the original game. I do like that extra chapter but sadly I doubt many people who are fluent enough in both languages have bothered with making a more direct translation.
