Sorry for double posting but...

I know i have said this before but... is it possible to conform the rules of D&D into a forum rpg? I just watched Projared's Vid bout D&D...and read a rulebook in the web... looks awesome and complicated...it was really given thought for every actions. I never played D&D myself but it looks awesome in a forum rp...stable (although it can be luck based due to rolling). Stats and allignment keeps the character in shape. Not everyone can punch and hit sucessfully. Map movement seems detailed as well so no fast travelling xD

Just a necro-ed random thought

Found this Forum that's dedicated directly to Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying. Just glancing at what I've found, a good bit of it resembles this Forums' format. Even uses the same Code System as this one so I think it could be implemented here, just need to apply the D&D Rules.(I'm also going to leave this here so I can look it up again so I can look around some more)

Cool...

Though since this is a corpse party forum... it would be a corpse party one of course... (well from time to time, it is also good to play a normal rpg)...

So we rather need less combat oriented and more survival skill sets... since the only time we're gonna fight is when

a.) A fight against a living person (whether NPC or Player)
b.) Last Boss if Sachiko (the Dungeon Master) is willing fight ala PC-98 style

Corpse Party D&D focuses on survivability...
STR for physical dmg and removing Phys obstacles
INT for combining stuff you see in HH.
WIS for Darkening Def
CON for HP and Phys Def
DEX for Evasion of traps and attacks
CHR for persuation....

The one playing Sachiko would be the one setting traps, keeping the story and putting ghost and yoshikazu

I guess its possible though we need effort to polish this things xD

Honestly I prefer survival oriented Roleplaying scenarios over combat situations when playing online anyway.
I think like we've discussed several months ago, this could work as a starting point for a Co.Pa styled RP. Just need to read up (And simplify) the core rules of D&D to be more accessible for this kind of gaming.(Don't really see the need to add every aspect of the rules in the setting. I don't even use all of them when playing the actual game)

Plus it'd be nice to play as a living character for once, whether it'd be the actual cast or some OCs. I'd say to mix it up by allowing both.
But ugh, it's moments like this I really wish I had joined back in 2012 when RPs were the norm.

Yeah, thats the time where you can't spell Corpse Party without an rp xD

Also By applying d&d rules in cp rps... there would be no Plot Armor nor God Mode... Everyone can die at any moment... A fate appropriate to the theme of heavenly host.

Honestly, I'd think using Call of Cthulu rules might be more fitting. You'd have to replace all the lovecraftian elements with spirits/Sachiko/Heavenly Host.

I dont know bout that... sounds awesome because cp is a bit inspired by Lovecraft....

Any rulebooks,direction or examples?

Hmm... I think you can find one on the internet, or maybe /tg on 4 chan. A friend of mine loves going to that place to just read up on table top and role playing games. There are a couple funny stories there as well.

This reddit link seems to have a good list of stuff.

There seems to be a problem with the chaosium links though, since I can't download the free Quick-start PDF version of the rule book. Others posts keep on referencing it, so it should work.

EDIT: Found this. Might help.

I've read the rulebook and this helpful page

Yeah... CoC is much more closer to CoPa than D&D...

I like the Sanity meter xD of course, we're gonna have our own skill sets cause the skils in here are post college graduates haha. We will have to change the class to school base like Jock, Teacher, Artist, Honor Student, Delinquent and so on.

Although, are gonna include magic points? Sanity/Darkening seems to cover that part... unless we're playing blood drive... Magic Artifacts are rare in HH (i mean that drains mana rather than sanity)

We should have our own thread for this haha xD

lolol I just thought the theme of your character always losing something important, no matter the situation, just really felt like CoPa-verse.
