If you ask me. Love is just a concept that I've only ever experienced in a friendly nature with family, and select few friends. Not exactly a feeling I shared intimately with another individual. Nothing's wrong with experimenting with how these feelings work. And it doesn't make ya a dick if the feelings weren't shared from both spectrums. Unless she did have these feelings, but you couldn't reciprocate on the same level. Then it was best to cut it off before dragging on a pointless relationship. Everything is a learning experience. All I can say is take what you've learned and move on to better things, and don't worry about meeting someone else's expectations. Live for yourself, not someone else is what I always say. Apologies if I seem vain. Admittedly, I've been in a relationship. And it's something I'd much rather forget, than to go into extensive detail. Just can't bring myself to remember such awful events. |

Thing is... i didnt really cut it. It just faded into non-communication. I basically cut all communications. Well, we saw each other passing once. It was a simple hi... so i guess she moved on? Then yeah, i guess i'll do that... continuing to be just myself. That is after all what i do best  Thanks! |

I definitely agree with what Yoshie said there, since it's often hard to know how you're going to feel about being in a relationship with someone until you've done so (both since you know the person less, and since it's harder to know what a relationship's like without experiencing it), and like a lot of things in life, it's still an experience you can learn from and use to do better in the future. That said though, I do agree with you that it wasn't very nice of you to just drift away and leave her wondering instead of calling off the relationship, since it often hurts more to be let wondering than to know the situation and have some form of closure. It sounds like you likely realize already that it was a bad way to handle it and it's in the past at this point, so I wouldn't worry too much about it anymore, though I'd definitely try to avoid doing so in the future. That shouldn't be a reason to avoid dating altogether though, since it's perfectly normal to have changing feelings in a relationship, and it's often expected that any initial dates are more like a try out period of sorts (especially among anyone who's got some dating experience). You just want to make sure you're honest and up front about your feelings so you don't leave things hanging, is all. I think that's not just better for the other person, but better for the one cutting off the relationship, since even if it's uncomfortable and you may feel a bit guilty at the time, you won't feel regretful later on about not saying anything. Anyway, based on what you're saying there, it sounds like you're a bit unsure on whether you really want to start dating or not, so I do think thinking about that more can definitely make sense. Sometimes it's hard to know until you have an opportunity, so it still could be fine getting to know that girl better (especially if you think you'd still enjoy her company as a friend, since then it'd still be an enjoyable friendship even if it never turns romantic), and possibly even dating eventually if both your feelings head that way, though I'd also say don't feel forced to date just because some others say you should have a girlfriend by now. Dating is something that takes commitment, so not everyone's going to be ready to do so at the same time in life. Some may find that they're enjoying dating as young as 15, while someone else may not feel they're ready for that sort of relationship until they're in their 30's (or even older). Some people find that a romantic relationship isn't what they really want as well, and they're happier off with their only relationships being whatever friends they have. All are acceptable options, so do whatever you feel is right for you. |

I know this is random (hey, living up to that thread title), but do you guys ever feel a connection to your stuff relating to your past (like say old notebooks from school) to the point, that when someone close to you tells you to clean up and to toss a lot of it out, you ever feel like your not sure what to really let go? Like... I get the feeling, that if I ever get serious into studies once more and soon, I might need some of the stuff I have with me to make it easier, or rather... I'm kinda afraid to lose the knowledge, and never have the opportunity to refresh myself, like either due to relation to subject... either that, or get the creeping sensation, that some time in the future, information I can't recall but look up, might help in some significant way. (For example, I'm hesitant to toss out my science or physics notebooks, despite not really knowing or caring much for the subject, with the latter I feel being especially true.) Has anyone else felt something similar at least? |

Staring at the ceiling and walls was pretty much what I've done for a while. Until I found some neat games on Steam that were on sale, and replaying Pokémon SoulSilver. Actually been so wrapped up playing games, I forgot to play guitar a few times. |
