A kid-horror novel I used to read as a youngster was Goosebumps written by R.L Stine.
Posted Image

I first saw it in my school library in the "Pocketbook" section. I have to say the book covers get to be real creepy.
I wanted to borrow it from the librarian, so I got accepted, and I decided to read at home. I read at the night.

It really wasn't scary at all at times though.

Oh my. I totally forget about Goosebumps. That was a great series at one point, even if it wasn't scary all the time.

I almost never read english novel..its always manga so i will share to you some of my favs
1. Shintaro Kago manga..try to read some of his works, and your jaw will always drop in every story because of his dark imagination
2. Oyasumi PunPun..this manga is so damn depressing but cute and fun..it focuses on the life of a punpun onodera and other people that influences his everyday life.. The cute thing bout this is unlike the other people who is drawn normally..he and his family are shown as child drawn birds..it kinda changes depending on his emotional state..
3. Mysterious girl friend x.. A peculiar love story about a guy, a girl and drools that conveys feelings (yeah, you read it right) . A very creative story i tell you
4. Aku no hana. A story that tackles master/slave relationship and nihilism

im not good with words so i suggest you try to read this to fully understand the stories XD

the only english novels that i have read is the left behind series, and angels and demons which i never finished because ive watched the movie XD

edit: i am a fan of give yourself goosebump series when i was a child, i always buy one whenever i see one XD

Goosebumps....how could I forget? :D Actually ... I haven't. I have a lot from the 90s series on DVD. Haven't kept the books, mainly due to poor condition. But I used to read them all the time! Especially a "Give yourself Goosebumps" book I liked where, depending on choices, either you or the dog became a vampire.

Fan of his writing now, though. I watch his new Haunting Hour TV series and, even me being 17, it creeps me out completely! Especially the living doll episodes. :'( I always hated dolls.

Mayu's Shige-nii.
I'm currently in the middle of 'The Catcher in the Rye'. I know it's probably a little too mature for a 13 year old, but as previously mentioned, I find myself way too mature, and have read stuff like Machiavelli before, so I think I can enjoy and understand.

I do, however, find it disturbing how familiar I feel to Holden.

The Hermit.
Currently I'm in chapter 23 (Or so, I don't remember exactly) of The world god only knows. Also I'm fancying the TF2 comics.

Don't worry about it too much there Morishige. As you may have feel urges to kill John Lennon after you read this book, but he's already dead. So, you're fine.

As for me, I've been reading Batman comics. I just recently read "Batman Year One," "The Man Who Laughs," and "The Killing Joke." I love Batman, but there is no comic book store near me so I bought these books on Amazon.

As a kid my favorite series was Encyclopedia Brown. I loved trying to solve the mysteries on my own before reading the solution in the back.

Currently, I'm reading World War Z in tiny pieces at a time. I hang out in the book and magazine section during lunch breaks and I never have the money on me to just buy the book.
Mazel's current mood is:

You never can win
it's the state I'm in
This danger thrills and my conflict kills
They say follow your heart
follow it through
But how can you
when you're split in two?
