I see your point. Considering the resources they have put into this, the hypes, the characters countdown and other antiques they put toward the game, the first week sales were indeed disappointing. Maybe that was because the game being rushed and the mandatory patch on the first day drove some people away (and as you know, the patch size is really large). Being on a relatively new console might also be a factor.

I hope this doesn't affect the likelihood for more CP games to be made or GrindHouse partnership with 5pb if they plan to work together again in the future.

Yeah, that does put a damper on things. Of course, it's more important that they address these problems, since day one patches are never a good sign.

Most won't consider the sales bad but not enough for a PSP port since it sold just a bit more than previous titles
while they had much more developement costs on this one.

Also they might have not seen that coming having hard work to fix loadings/ flaslight frame drop/ etc on Unity engine
just my speculation anyways...

I want the game, but I don't even have a PS Vita..... (Sadness...) :'(
I know those feels.... :(
Yeah, A lot of us know that feel... But hey, we have the hope that Corpse Party, someday, will be avaible on PC cuz is made in the Unity engine...
-Offtopic: Damn you 5pb, allow Youtube users to upload Blood Drive videos !!! ^o)
Whilst a PC release would be cool, I don't see it happening.

Having it be made in unity means nothing really, consider how many thousands of games for console only that were made with the unreal engine, those would all work on pc, every game these days is compiled on PC's and usually tested on PC's alongside consoles, doesn't mean a PC release will happen though, for a variety of reasons, 1 it might undermine the original release effort, 2: visuals, if somethings made for handhelds then its going to have that quality of models and textures, Blood Drive doesn't even look like a Vita game ON Vita, if it was ported to PC it'd show evenmore so across a much larger screen, and issues would be blown up dramatically.

-Offtopic: I personally agree with the lets play video timeout, Corpse Party is a game where a spoiler can ruin the whole game, accidentally hearing who lives or dies is enough to make someone not want to buy the game. Lack of videos keeps information to a minimum (well, as much as they can control). Its a story heavy game, and so thats the main draw for most consumers, revealing that will possibly harm sales.
Not to mention I'm sure people could just livestream it under a different name if they so wanted to.

I've just recently purchased a Vita for Blood Drive and a few other games I can't remember right now (horrible, I know right?) But now I'm kind of regretting my purchase. I wanted it originally for Blood Drive but found a couple other interesting games. But since getting the Vita I haven't really played it yet. I've been replaying Blood Covered Repeated Fear and Book of Shadows, Persona 3 and Black Rock Shooter: the video game on my PSP more and more.

I do not regret for the games i bought on it lol
though Vita is probably my last safe bet cause the DLC trend on next generation will ruin any game company probably.

After reading the past few pages on this post, I will say this much, personally, I would never buy (for the long-run) hardware that doesn't at least have more than one game I know I would love to play.

When I bought my Vita, I definitely haven't regretted my purchase since. From Soul Sacrifice/Delta, to Muramasa, to the Atelier series (Rorona, Totori and Meruru), Persona 4 Golden, Gravity Rush, Ragnorak Odyssey/Ace, to Disgaea 3 (super excited for 4 to be out for the Vita; already placed my order on it hehe), to dungeon crawlers like Demon Gaze, rouge-like games like Spelunky and Rouge Legaxy, and gosh the list goes on and on.

So far I have a total of about 33 games, and I pretty much play my Vita daily whenever I have the time~
I learned after getting a 3DS just for Etrian Odyssey and beating it, and as well as not being interested in what the 3DS has to offer, I sold it back, which gave me a valuable lesson that you really need to do the research before investing into something like the PS Vita or Nintendo 3DS. Find out how many games you would like, how long will they keep your attention, and many other factors.

So in all, if you don't own a Vita yet but love Corpse Party that much to buy it just for that, remember to think hard about that atleast at this current time. Especially if you don't understand Japanese, is it really worth to jump through hoops (via looking online for translations, potentially running into possible spoilers, hoping back and forth from game to computer screen), then to just wait for a localization and look into other series exclusive to the Vita that you might want to try and like? Definitely keep those into consideration~

Just a food for though hehe.

Last thing, I'm not really going to comment about the PSP-related discussion mostly because it's pretty much about to be a dead handheld (if not, it already is) whether you like it or not. The industry needs to keep pushing forward, to better hardware, and much more. The PS Vita has been out for a few years now, and a game like this honestly I don't believe could handle the dated PSP hardware is (and many other games for that matter), so honestly, just read my wall of text up there if the PS Vita will be really for you!

I hope none of what I said came off negative, but I hope atleast somewhat of my giant comment helped one of you! hehe, cheers!

I love my Vita.

Initially I er... I can't remember if I bought the Vita for a specific game or not, if I did, it was probably persona 4 Golden.

I never owned a PSP so I had a mountain of PSP games to catchup on. Crisis Core, MGS Peace Walker, both the corpse Party games, Legend of Heroes Trials in the sky, the list goes on, basically any JRPG from the PSP.

Then for Vita games, I got P4G, Atelier Totori (I'm sorry to any that likes this game but its bad game design, its fun but the time limit stuff is not cool), Child of Light, Rayman Legends, Muramasa Rebirth (plus its DLC's, which are by far the best DLCs of any game I've played), Dragons Crown, Our Katamari FFX/X-2 HD (seriously I got this basically just for Last Mission... being from Europe thats the ONLY new thing, unlike the US which missed a lot of content we got in the original release), FEZ, Danganronpa, MGSHD Collection (doesn't come with peace walker... I'm a huge MGS fan), Lone Survivor, Disgaea 3 and 4 (4s not out yet, 3 I didn't start yet) and a few others coming soon.

I purchased a 3DS however 90% soley for Bravely Default Flying Fairy (Love that game!), but I'd also never bothered to buy a DS, so I had a mountain of JRPGS to play from the original DS still. I don't think buying a console for a single game is wise at all, I work fulltime and have for several years, meaning I have the money to spare and even I don't think its wise, how anyone could ever consider it when they're low on money confuses me. If you never owned a PSP then you've a good library of games to get through like me, but if you owned a PSP and no vita games catch your interest, just wait until some do, thats really the best way to do it.

I bought the Vita because I liked the handheld.
Besides that, the titels I was interested in (for buying a Vita) and had bought for my Vita are :

  • Persona 4 Golden [Eng. SE]
  • Muramasa Rebirth [Eng. DD]
  • Demon Gaze [Eng. SE]
And so far I also bought :

  • To Love-Ru Darkness : Battle Ecstasy [Jp. LE]
  • Sword Art Online : Hollow Fragment [Jp. LE]
  • Corpse Party : Blood Drive [Jp. LE]

Of course I wouldn't by a console just for one game.
I have 6 3DS games and those 6 were the reason I bought the handheld.

  • Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
  • Fire Emblem Awakening
  • Bravely Default
  • Pokemon X
  • Theatrythm Final Fantasy
  • Kingdom Hearts 3D |Dream Drop Distance|

That's why I haven't bought a PS4 yet.
There are good games but not that I would buy a PS4 for them since
they are also for the other consoles like PS3 etc.
Still I only would play the PS4 Versions of those games.
The only games I would buy a PS4 for are FFXV and KH3 but those games are still in development.
For this year there is only Assassins Creed Unity.
So I'll wait.

Well, I own a PC. That's it. Just a PC. :D I've never had a PS or a Xbox, and I once a PSP that broke. In my country probably 0,001 % of the population has one.
