Basic Information Name: Septum Furcadia Name: Septum Gender: Male Age: Immortal Lifespan. (Appears to be 80 or older) Race: Human, Myster Deity: Time Size/Body Type: Slim Height: 5'6" Weight: 120 Lbs Alignment: True Neutral Hair: White Eyes: Purple Complexion: Pale, extremely wrinkled. Defining Features: Birthmark of Moebius Strip between his eyebrows, on his forehead. Scars: None. Likes: Life's simple pleasures, riddles, subterfuge, balance of the natural order. Dislikes: Anything detrimental to the wellbeing of the Timeline. Personality: His personality is as he wishes others to percieve him. In one instance, he is the mad hermit- reclusive, erratic and prone to shouting riddles- while in another instance, he is a wise old soothsayer, offering would-be 'champions' cryptic clues. In truth, he is a wise and cunning individual. Ruthless, extremely patient and set on the preservation of the Timeline. Mannerisms: Different each time, depending on the guize he takes on. His 'true' manner is usually calm, patient and well-spoken. Distinct Information Trade and/or Skills: Mage/ Time Guardian Skill Level: These are the various abilities of a Time Streamer. As a Guardian of Time, these abilities are rarely used except to defend himself or preserve the natural balance. Should a Time Streamer become corrupt, the nature of his Pillar will itself become Corrupt and the Streamer must be executed to purify it once more. "Charge posts" are only active during fights. (Time Manipulation) Time Travel: The Time Streamer wills him/herself to another point in time- be it past or future. Using this ability, they could witness the birth of time itself, or the end of time- though this has not been attempted before due to the obvious risk of death. [No charge: Non-combat ability] Displace: A field is generated around an object, animal or person- displacing them from time and sending them hurtling to a designated point in time. This is VERY risky, as having two of the same person in one place at the same time carries the risk of creating a time-altering Paradox. [1 Charge Post for small items (Daggers, Shackles, Chains, etc). 2 Charge Posts for Larger items and animals (Swords, Armour, corpses, etc). 4 Charge Posts for Live People.] Force of Ages: Using this ability, an object such as armour, weapons, or even a person can be forced to age rapidly. This can cause new and strong objects to become old and brittle within moments, or cause a living person to become old or even die and decompose. The ability can be used in reverse. [1 Charge Post for small items (Daggers, Shackles, Chains, etc). 2 Charge Posts for Larger items (Swords, Armour, corpses, etc). 3 Charge Posts for Animals. 4 Charge Posts for Live People.] Slow Time: Slows down time for the caster, allowing him to move and react faster than others around him/her. This can be used to bring time to almost a standstill. [1 Charge Post for 25% slow. 2 Charge Posts for 50% slow. 3 Charge Posts for 75% slow. 4 Charge Posts to Pause Time.] Pacemaker: Speeds up a target's perception of time, making everybody around them seem to move much faster than normal. [1 Charge Post for 50% speed-up. 2 Charge Posts for 100% speed-up. 3 Charge Posts for 150% speed-up. 4 Charge Posts for 200% speed-up.] (Illusion) Projection: The caster wills a chosen image or scene into existence. The image appears within a sphere of 'mist'. [Non-combat Spell.] Hallucination: The Caster fills the mind of his/her target with a chosen scene/image, making them percieve that they are surrounded by the illusion. [2 Charge Posts. Channel (Requires concentration once spell takes effect. Breaking concentration will break the spell).] Daylight: A globe of light is conjured into existence, flooding the area in light. Used to illuminate dark areas or ward off beasts that inhabit the night. [Non-combat Spell.] Disguise: Allows the caster to change how others percieve them. The changes are only visual and audible, however. [1 Charge Post. Only effective in Combat if opponent(s) are not aware.] Darkness: The caster fills an area with illusionary darkness. This can be with an aim to blind a group of people or merely to reduce the glare of sunlight on their eyes. [1 Charge Post.] Ventriloquism: The Caster projects their voice to any area within sight. [No charge required.] History: Septum plays a major role in the course of history; guiding individuals towards their destinies and preserving the natural balance over the Aeons. To achieve this, he often takes the role of an 'Oracle', utilizing illusions to show past, present or future. Rarely would he play a direct role in the affairs of men, occasionally having to go so far as to advise those in a position of immediate power; warning them of unseen threats that would upset the natural balance or even create a paradox if left unchecked. Every move is carefully planned out and executed, designed to ensure the welfare of the world as a whole rather than just one individual or group. Character Description: Unassuming, old and greyed to the point of whiteness, this man's appearance betrays little of his purpose. A birthmark on his forehead closely resembles a Moebius strip and provides the only physical marker that defines his purpose as the Time Guardian. He wears purple Garb with an open blue Robe and Cloak over them, often seen wielding a Staff with an ornate snake coiled around it, the head of which bites the bright, shining orb at the Staff's head. Shining purple eyes contain the wisdom of ages past and ages to come, while signet ring on his finger sports the sigil of some long-forgotten Elder God. Sample Post: Septum was, as is his custom, disguised and hiding his true face. Should the same face show up consistently throughout history, people would surely make connections in the future. Today, he was an ageing old Orcish Shaman, travelling from tribe to tribe. At least, that's the story he told his current hosts. They'd been quick enough to inform him of problems in their area of the forest- rot setting into otherwise healthy plantlife and disease amongst the wildlife- confirming his fears. "Shadows haunt these forests. Malignent beings who would see harm done to the wilds, their taint spreads as spores in the wind. Just as the tree sets it roots deep, so do the spores! The roots must be killed and the taint purged. Seek out the source of this evil and right what was wronged." he proclaimed. Now the Shamans had the direction they would require to purify the forest once more. The wandering Shaman wandered once more, leaving without stopping to accept thanks or answer further questions. His purpose was done and in time, the tribes would share their knowlege of how to fight the plague that affects the Forests. Once out of sight, the Orc seemed to vanish into thin air as Septum pulled himself out of time once more, sifting through the Timeline in search of a time that would require his assistance. I'd also like to add that I recognise I will likely have to make a number of changes to the character. Though his combat abilities are rarely used, I have given them long charge times to compensate for their strength and add more opportunities for players to counter these powerful abilities - since I realise most of his powers would be able to decide a fight in one use. I welcome all reccomendations for how I can make him more suitable to the dream, however. It is difficult to find a place I can RP him, lol. Somebody needs to make a Legacy of Kain dream.
