Saw that, plus Yaya Touré commands fantastic loyalty from Africans. Also liked this picture, a little manipulative but lots of fun:
I saw that Yaya had the second most votes among premier league players behind RVP. I am sure that made you squirm. Of course in your warped mind, it had to be other Africans voting for him. Poor, poor Santry! By the way, I looked up and down on that list for "Mr. Own Goal" Richard Dunne and couldn't find him. Where is he these days Mr. Moderator?
As it's understood that this thing is open to partisanship it's fine to back your man. I understand that Yaya hoovered up 2/3 of the votes he got from Africa, especially African journalists. With few current continental rivals and no dilution factors that's to be expected. It would seem that Messi comes from a continent with less solidarity. If he didn't have this strong cohort of identification would he have even been mentioned... Doubt it. Among the European nations you generally get more discernment and less block voting. For example Robbie Keane voted for Ronaldo, while Martin O'Neill voted for Messi. It's interesting that you mention Richard Dunne. He's the player who has barely played in two years without back injections. The same one who was in the team of the year around 2008 and was rated by UEFA as the MVP during 18 months of qualifiers.... and for that he still awaits credit from you. The fact that he's now 5 years older, injured and near the end of his career must be why you are kicking so very hard. Of course it does nothing to disabuse people of the view that you are a coward. Why don't you provide showing that most African people vote for Yaya? I want to see it.

International Captains who voted him #1 (worth 5 points) Cameroon - Eto'o LOL Ivory Coast - Dogba LOL Mauritania - some postman in the western desert LOL
Managers who voted him#1 (worth 5 points) Nigeria -Keshi Stephen
Journalists who voted him #1 (worth 5 points) Ivory Coast - Adam Khalil LOL
International captains who voted him #2 (worth 3 points) Belgium -Vincent Kompany
Journalists who voted him #2 (worth 3 points) Chad -Hissein Ali Alifa Eritrea- Michael Seium
International captains who voted him #3 (worth 1 point) Greece - Giorgious Karagounis Somalia - Yasin Egal South Africa- Itumeleng Khune
Managers who voted him #3 (worth 1 point) Cambodia- Lee Tae Hoon Ivory Coast - Sabri Lamouchi LOL Kenya - adel Amrouche Mali- pathe diallo Monsterfat- Lenny Hewlett Somalia - Faryare Abdulle South Sudan - Samuel Salyi
Journalists who voted him #3 (worth 1 point) Equatorial Guinea - David Monsuy Grenada - Michael bascombe Senegal - Aliou Goloko Togo -Mathias Ayena
In fact I'd like to thank you because I had underestimated the level of African support. How do you want to stack this up. If we look at the number of votes it's 5/18. However, if you look at points it's only 7 out of 39 from outside Africa.
Clearly the tendency to over-rate Touré and be African has a high correlation.

Do you realize that there are more than 50 African coaches and more than 5O African captains which means more than two thirds of the voters did not even vote for him? Does it bother you that they are no Irish players ever who were as good as Yaya? You probably see Yaya galloping in your nightmares.

No surprise here, that Santry is trying to rubbish anything that comes from Africa. He even went to the extent of insulting Arsenal African fan base a while ago.Wait until Yaya toure is close to the end of his career, then he'll tell us he's been 'average' all along.

Twisty, twisty, twisty. When I said what you are weaving into the version of the truth that suits you best I said, not of Africans at large but persons like Paul Kagame: "some parts of our African fanbase". You, Elnuk and the coward0893 seized upon it as racist....

"Two-thirds of African captains, managers and journalists are not daft". Obviously most people are going to have some order of Ribery, Ronaldo and Messi in their 123. The fact that some people voted for Touré is interesting because we can see each vote transparently and see that the people who voted for him: 1. Are Africans, in a year where few Africans are there to dilute continental solidarity 2. Played with him like Kompany, Eto'o and Karagounis and may be expected to show loyalty
And, what's more... I don't wish to participate in the homoerotic fantasies brought on by your mancrush. What does he do to you after he gallops towards you? On second thoughts keep that to yourself.

He is one of the top players in the world and the best player at his position. He is a decorated footballer. So yes, Yaya deserves every accolade he is getting as much as this may pain you.

Ha. You do know that the Ballon d'or is a political exercise in many respects. I've shown you the continental solidarity political effect and quantified it for you. You seem to be struggling with what it is, because despite my categories you thought it wasn't only captains.
We all know that the Ballon d'or is a annual issue. Still you insist that Yaya is the best in his position. Wrong, wrong and wrong again. Yaya is not only not best in his position (OPTA) you are still reeling that Aaron Ramsey did better than him in 2013.
I'm not thrashing Yaya Touré. I'm just giving him the right amount of credit. Keep whipping up a sympathy vote for yourself. What amazes me is that when an Arsenal player is better than your mancrush you won't give the credit. Thank you for your "support".

Yep, that's what I thought. You are delusional. As an Arsenal "supporter" I thought you would be very happy to give the credit to one of our players. As the Ballon d'or is a calendar year and Aaron Ramsey's great form is a calendar year the question is why he didn't get in there somewhere. And the answer is African solidarity.
