But when Jack says this bout Zelalem - u sit up and take notice! “[Zelalem] sees passes that not a lot of players can and he’s so comfortable on the ball,” fellow midfielder Jack Wilshere said about his teammate. “Even in training, he’s a nightmare to play against. “He keeps the ball away from you and shields it. He’s not very big but he’s strong. He drifts in and out of players. Technically, he’s right up there. He can use his left and right and he sees so many passes.” |

Klinsmann reached out to him as early as a year ago. |

It would be fun having an American playing for Arsenal. |

The USA would seem the right option for Zelalem, with the perfect balance of opportunity to play and opportunity to win. Let's hope that he concurs, otherwise, it'll be time for some extraordinary rendition. |

The problem with him playing for the US is that he will lose his German citizenship, which then means he will need a work permit to play in England, which could make things tricky. Plus the toll the traveling can take on a player when his club and country are on two different continents. It'll be easier to play for Germany, probably better for his club career and better for Arsenal. And his teammates might even influence him into joining them. But it would be amazing to see him play for the USMNT. He would be a star. |

I think he's going end up playing for Germany. Wish that he wouldn't but it seems like the easier option for all the reasons you mentioned. He would probably have a better chance of breaking into the US team faster though. Don't know how much that would play a part in his decision. |

It certainly can't help our cause to have him listening to all the other Germans in our locker room right now. I suppose from the narrow perspective of Arsenal FC, opting for Germany would be best. |

I wonder if he still speaks German since it's definitely not spoken in his house. |
