At the risk of sounding like one of the Mourinho-ites around here, I like his approach. I'm sure that City, along with most of the planet, felt that Jose's line-up was out to replicate Fat Sam's success against Chelsea the previous week. Instead, players like Luis were chasing opponents all the way up the pitch and winning possession constantly.
Mourinho is a myth, jokes aside I think it's safely to say pellegrini has been out-tacticed by Jose, I have no clue what he sees in Demicheles. It's like playing with 10 men.
In Pellegrini's defense, most of us, likely you and I included, saw 90 minutes of tedious break down the bus action. Chelsea's high line and hard pressing approach caught all of us out.
actually I thought with the comment Jose made in midweek, he wouldn't want to get the honour of being crowned the biggest hypocrite of the year, I thought he would have a go at City albeit a bit cautiously knowing city play 'open' football especially at home.
Astute analysis. Where did you publish that prior to the match?

Let's not blame it all on demicheles, when City attack, they have two full backs going forward, Yaya goes forward, Kompany even joins the attack. When it comes off it looks brilliant, even against Chelsea defensive stance, they were able to create some chances. When they lose the ball, they try to pressure on the immediate vicinity of the ball. However when you escape they initial pressure, they are so open, it is unbelievable. It can work against inferior teams but Mourinho is a master at counter attacking and City were easy pickings for Chelsea

This half shows how one really shitty player can upset the balance of a team. DiMichalis is a horror show in midfield. He's literally running around with zero clue of what he's doing. Poor spacing when trying to make himself available to pass and absolutely lost tracking back whenever Chelsea are in possession.
i hear u but it seems yaya is more than compensating 4 ineffective team mate.
Yaya has been charging forward almost everytime City have the ball leaving DiMichalis simply too much to do for a player who is utterly ill-equipped to be playing where he is.

Having players like Hazzard and Eto'o who can intelligently hold up play while help arrives certainly helps with a counter attacking approach.

Shocking amounts of space available in and around City's box.
