Dein alone is responsible for Usmanov getting into Arsenal. Not the entire club. The guy sold out to him and how could that have been stopped back then? Maybe if was vetted more than the club could've went into lock down mode earlier to stop Dein. They did it to prevent Usmanov from getting to 30% ownership.
My view is that Dein saw what was happening at Chelsea and figured that was the way to go with another super rich owner. Background be damned. What percent of Chelsea fan boys care about Roman's past exploits? Most sins are forgiven if their club is winning. It's not right but that's a fact.
Not really then issue jay. The fact is while Arsenal fans are calling Chelsea because of their owner , Arsenal have Usmanov who is every bit as dodgy I could add that they are managed by a philanderer & have a history of serial drink drivers & druggies as ex players . People in glass houses.... Just saying
Except Usmanov isn't actually putting any money into the club, and the board never wanted him in the first place.
Right,so that's so much better having someone like usmanov at the club but not actually putting money in ?? Great counter cruyyf 😳 If you don't want the guy's blood money, then absolutely!

If you don't want the guy's blood money, then absolutely! So on that small basis, even though he is a major shareholder in the club you feel entitled to hold Arsenal on that much of a higher moral pedestal than Chelsea whose Russian Oligarch is at least pumping his money into the club & not just using it as a money laundering service
3 cheers for Arsenal, the last bastion of righteousness & morality. The manager cheating on his wife , previous manager done for taking bungs off agents, ex captain & stalwart a serial drink drive offender.

Who says that Usmanov is laundering money through Arsenal? I've never heard even The Metro say that. I'd' be more worried about something like this if Usmanov was actually spending his money to buy players. Then u might say he's washing some illicit cash. How can u launder money that's not being spent?
I''m not one to bang the drum of our club being on some high moral ground, but the club has done all they could to keep Usmanov buried.

If only Mourinho is good at cheating on his wife on a french rapper, he might be considered to have some class like Wenger...

Somebody else's opinion:
Major applause. Good thing there are no Chelsea supporters on this forum to object to or argue with this. Fug all dem Blues!
& Alisher Usmanov is of course a fine upstanding citizen right ?
Yes, Usmanov, who's every play for controlling interest has been rebuffed at The Arsenal, compared to Roman, Jose, Terry, et al. Uh huh. Arsenal is virtually virtuous when compared with the whorehouse that is Chelski. So you base your argument on "not being as bad" (or "virtually virtuous when compared to"). That sounds like the type of argument that a 12 year old kid would make, not a grown ass adult. Pointing out others faults to try and distract from your own is pretty lame...

Pointing out others faults to try and distract from your own is pretty lame... There is a point at which difference in degree becomes difference in kind. 'Grown ass adults' will understand that point has been reached and exceeded by Chelsea compared to Arsenal.
