Ox has had a poor game.
Huh? I thought he has looked bright and active, his shooting hasn't been super accurate, but it was his willingness to make space and drive a ball at goal that led to the opener.
You might be right I was just looking at his play in the second half.
I will say the shooting accuracy is troubling and not just from the Ox, I counted at least 4 other times Arsensl buzzed the post (at least 2 from the Ox), it would be instructive to look at the first goal and see what happens when you actually hit the target, good things often happen...

MOTM? Right. Anyone have him prior to the match? Besides the goals, fine overall performance.

United go up three nil. Arsenal will probably draw them in the next round.

On both of those goals Flamini was really playing the part of Ramsey from the first half of last year. Wenger seems to have fallen in love with the idea of Cazorla as that "box to box" spot or deep lying playmaker (whatever your preference) I think Arsenal look better with a better athlete playing that spot, coming through on deeper starting runs, something that's been missing with Ramsey out wide right.
Wasnt Flam playing as a CDM?

He was playing next to Arteta in that sort of double pivot I thought, neither made very many forward jaunts, I think both times Flam got forward he scored.

It may be that at this point in their careers Flarteta function better as a pair than individually, both covering for each other in front of the back 4, I don't think either of them can handle that position by themselves when paired with Cazorla (especially) or Ramsey (maybe slightly less so), but together they were pretty effective shielding the back, distributing and disrupting and Flam even managed to score on two of his very few forays forward...

Some of the athleticism that was lost with Le Coq not out there was made up for with pace and determination from the likes of Ramsey, Campbell and The Ox.
