Ox has had a poor game.
Huh? I thought he has looked bright and active, his shooting hasn't been super accurate, but it was his willingness to make space and drive a ball at goal that led to the opener.
exactly lol, I don't know what games some people watch when Ox plays we are always a dangerous team...
Oddly enough Ox is a lot worse at the things you slate Alexis for, yet we don't hear you criticize him. I agree that we look a dangerous team with the Ox in the lineup, but too often this season that danger has been for us rather than our opponents. Let's hope he can sort out his mistakes and carelessness in possession because he should be a nailed-on starter.
No he's not, for every 1 turnover by Ox we have 5 for Alexis. The only difference is that Ox turnovers tend to cost us and that is Wenger's fault because this usually happens when Ox is played deep. Good old Stubborn Wenger still deluded that Ox future lies in central midfield. As a winger he's has dangerous to the opposition as you'll get in the EPL.
That's because of poor decision-making. And no, it's not Wenger's fault that Ox is trying to dribble out of pressure from deep when he's playing RW.
you mean at CM or at RB(in the West ham game)?

Chamberlain was playing RW when he was dispossessed against West Ham.

U do know he hasn't scored an EPL goal in almost a year. Yet he's as dangerous to the opposition on the wing as it gets in the league? Actually that would the guy on the other wing for us that u nitpick at constantly.

He's only scored 13 goals in all comps and this is now his 5th season (wow...already?) with us.

No he was playing at RB, he finished the game at RB after Debuchy was subbed, mind you I would say he was basically playing RWB all game, as debuchy was non existent. The same cannot be said of the other side where Monreal is solid.

It doesn't help when this week is in the team then next week he's not despite playing well. It also doesn't help when he plays RW this week, next week he plays CM and the next week he finishes the game at RB because our RB was hopeless. Already three times , yes THREE already this season Debuchy has f*cked up Ox game because he's a spectator.

if Ox has one bad game the next week he's on the bench, if Sanchez has five bad games Wenger continues to play him see the difference, how can Ox hit form when he's been used as a sort of scapegoat?
Against the bigger sides in the BIG games , Ox is usually the difference against Chelsea at community shield, United Fa CUP tie at old traford, Liverpool FA cup semi final two seasons ago (not 3 teams ago Sadler!), the list goes on.
Sanchez is good for flat track bullying the likes of Burnley, Sunderland etc.. That's why Barca DUMPED him.

Dude, I love Ox. I loved him since we signed him. Even though you and a lot of others complained about why we were spending 15m on a teenager.

He's a huge talent, and he shows flashes of it. But a lot of times he's also a huge liability. He loses the ball in bad situations, or he doesn't track back, or he makes the wrong pass or the wrong run.
Against Monaco he brought us back to 2-1 with a great goal, but then lost the ball cheaply and watched as they scored the third.

Alexis is a world class player, and even his bad games are better than Ox's better games. Right now even Sterling is a far more consistent, more mature player.

Ox needs a run of games, some more confidence. Last season he was on a good run but he got injured. Against Spurs you could see him recover some semblance of form after a few mediocre appearances.

His dribbling ability is his greatest strength, but there needs to be more than just a burst to beat a defender. He needs to know when to do it, where to go, and how to pass when he finds space. Right now he's very inconsistent.

This is the same reason people think (or thought, hopefully) that Townsend is a great player. Yes, he can jink past a defender, but there's no point if he runs into another, or if he wildly skews his shot or cross. Or most importantly, where to go without the ball.

And that's something everyone seems to underestimate - where you move without the ball, where you are able to receive it, are hugely important. I love watching Naismith for Everton because he's not the most technically gifted player. He won't run past players, but he knows how to move without the ball. He's beaten defenders before he even receives it.

Ox needs to get into the right positions more, make the right runs. Play with more intelligence. At the moment he is trying a little too hard and not doing enough, which is why he's got so few goals and assists.

But yeah, no doubt it will come. And when it does he will be absolutely unstoppable. It could click for him this season if he stays fit.
