I remember when CR7 was first becoming a big name and people used to refer to the Brazilian as the "Real Ronaldo". Well with CR7 scoring his 500th and 501st goal of his career today is there now any doubt that he isn't only in the Brazilian's shadow, but he is better than he ever was and along with Messi may be the best player to ever play the game (sorry Pele and Maradonna)...

I do think that CRonaldo is on the very short list for best ever, but I also think it's unfair to slight the original Ronaldo. Who knows how his career might have gone without the devastating injuries.

Both, in their times, are/were brilliant, still, you can't ignore the fact CR7 is playing in era where the football officials have decimated defending.

Maybe not slighting him, but you're leaving out a crucial part in your comparisons between the two in your attempt to paint the new Ronaldo as the obvious better choice--that original Ronaldo suffered devastating injuries that ruined his career. Personally, I think that CRon is probably the better player, but I always wonder what could have been with the Brazilian.

Brazilian Ronaldo was devastating. Admittedly Cronaldo is the better athlete for the length of his pro career. At his peak, Brazilian Ronaldo
had everything in his arsenal.
