Ok let's get this absolutely straight, we only added Cech this summer, yet last year BEFORE man city shopping spree this summer, I said Arsenal had the best SQUAD in the league, hence Wenger is underachieving , apparently I was talking nonsense.
So now when we basically did nothing in the transfer window, people are all of a sudden now just seeing we have the best squad in the country and we should be winning the league, KMT.
Where did that conclusion come from? There you go...
"Team A: Cech Hector BFG Kos Nacho Coq Rambo Ox Ozil Alexis Theo Team B: Ospina Debuchy Chambers Gabriel Gibbs Flamster Arteta Welbeck Penguin Campbell Giroud Arguably Team B is good enough to beat 60% of the EPL team"

I would have thought the term applied more generally.

I'm really scratching my head on the recent poor results considering how deep our squad depth is and yes rotation is key for success when you have multiple competitions to participate. Look at our squad A and B and I'm leaving Wilshere out the 2 squads:
Team A: Cech Hector BFG Kos Nacho Coq Rambo Ox Ozil Alexis Theo Team B: Ospina Debuchy Chambers Gabriel Gibbs Flamster Arteta Welbeck Penguin Campbell Giroud Arguably Team B is good enough to beat 60% of the EPL team and on paper teams like Zagreb and Galatasaray. Arguably Wenger does have the luxury of rotating up to 7 players from match to match. Is it imbalance? Is it complacency? Is it arrogance? I'm just at a loss.....
Well, at least it isn't lack of ambition, right? You put together a roster with this sort of strength in order to win things. The fact we've somehow managed to do no better so far can be blamed on many things but not - based on this assembly of talent - on the cheerful willingness to settle for fourth that some would accuse us of. While I will continue to decry the club's failure to beef up the DM position, the fact is we're not operating as we were several years ago. Now, what that implies about whether or not we have the right manager...
Just say the word, you and I know Wenger is underachieving and only idiots will still be talking about "no money to compete" blah blah blah, minimum Wenger should be achieving with this squad is winning the league title and getting at least to the semis of the champions league. We may not have the best starting 11, and some players in our starting 11 won't make it into the Man utd, Man city,Chelsea or even suprisingly the Liverpool team (only CF position though), but we no doubt have the best squad. starting 11 don't win you league titles , a squad does....
Another straw man mercilessly ripped to shreds. Who is saying we now have no money? And it's a combination of squad strength, starting eleven, injuries, morale and management that produces titles. The simplistic reduction you're trying to impose here doesn't wash. Who said we have no money??
Is this a wind up? that has been the excuses of JODB,Cruyff and co, that we don't have money to compete with City,United,Chelsea blah blah blah
And it's a combination of squad strength, starting eleven, injuries, morale and management that produces titles.
1)Injuries - every club gets these, it evens out in the end, one season united might have a lot of injuries, next season it might be Arsenal, the following season it might be City like this season for example, at some point in the last 2 weeks they had TEN players out, imagine if that was Arsenal - the excuses will be flowing like a turbine...
2)Morale?? really? these are professionals FFS
3)Management - isn't that what we're talking about if you have the best squad in the country and you fail to win the league, then the manager hasn't 'managed' the team well.
P.S this squad is more equipped to cope with injuries more than any club in England, maybe even in Europe if you're looking at teams playing in the top 5 leagues PLUS in European competitions....

Interesting.
I say "Who is saying we now have no money?" and in order to respond to it you turn it into "Who said we have no money??"
The "wind up" appears to be self-inflicted.

The deepest squad depth doesn't equate to being the best team . Chelsea last season had probably the thinnest squad of the top 4 teams yet won in a canter

failing 2 do d do in summer window now makes mockery of afc squad. twas really over before season started. all squad combinations amounts 2 firing while half erectile.....need I say anymore. goat disdains from satisfaction of winning big & still stuck in nutty laboratory. his cowardice is killing fabric, morale & motivation of any squad combo.

Ironically: we might not be having this conversation, at least not yet, had your boy not bungled the match. fair enuf joe. red hot ospina-he botched it. clearly break from playing makes it easier for rust to set in as appears 2 be d case. confidence probably shattered going from one of copa's biggest stars 2 being no 2 at arsenal after stellar 1st afc season. beyond ospina, afc aint exactly firing on all cylinders. ospina may be part problem but our clownish conversion rate is bigger malaise affecting competitiveness. could also blame precious goat for being blind to ospina's rustic covering-pitiful squad mismanagement. quite familiar, player going from hero to zero under wenger. our demise is beyond one single player.

P.S funny how all of a sudden Chelsea of last season had the thinnest squad, when the constant garbage being spewed both here and in the media was that "Arsenal do not have the strength in depth to compete with Chelsea and Man city"...
