yh should have done it at the beginning of the season instead of waiting till now.
Are they going to fire the "transfer committee" too and the "Director of football" or is it "Technical director" they call it?

Statement from Liverpool owners, the Fenway Sports Group:
"Although this has been a difficult decision, we believe it provides us with the best opportunity for success on the pitch.

"Ambition and winning are at the heart of what we want to bring to Liverpool and we believe this change gives us the best opportunity to deliver it.

“The search for a new manager is under way and we hope to make an appointment in a decisive and timely manner.”

So Jurgen Klopp heavy metal time at Anfield?

They must have somebody lined up.

Hard to see why they've done this if they don't have someone lined up.

Battle for 4th might be really, really interesting this year. Go Palace!

There is no best time to fire a manager, it's all a matter of results and sentiment to an extent.

To me, though, he should have gone midway last season.

I think there is, you should fire a manager at the end of the season, so that new coach (if he thinks it is necessary) can ship out players that doesn't suit his philosophy and bring new ones in unless you're certain the new manager can come in mid way into the season and fufil your objectives e.g winning title or avoiding relegation or finishing top 4 or winning Europa league etc I guess in the case of Liverpool it won't matter much since they have a "transfer comitee".

Thierry Henry's reaction to the news looks hilarious.

When a manager gets sacked at this time of the year, with the season underway I am always going to say those those above him haven't a clue. The optimal time for a sacking is February - April as you give an incoming appointment part of a season to work out what potential the squad he is inheriting can offer.

I don't think this was deserved. Yes, Rogers had a 50% success/fail rate with signings, but he was a damn fine coach and improved some mediocre players. Look at the calls of desperation for Kenny Dalgleish. That's not healthy.
