That's the who,e point Santry, he is a good coach, but he is a shit manager. He has about a 10% success rate with transfers. He never learned from his mistakes & bought the wrong players time & time again. I think now is a good time to sack a manager simply because it gives the new manager some time to work with his squad before the January window IF the club are willing to back the new coach with money in this window He deserved these couple of months to show improvement form what he did 2 seasons ago but it just is t working. |

d_t, see, with just three responders came three opinions. This is one of those you just can't nail down: when the circumstances demand the time is up, any delay is merely procrastination which usually ends up being costly to the club. |

Just realized Liverpool are only 6 pts behind City and only three behind the fourth CL place(which is surely the realistic goal). I'd be really surprised if they did this without having one of Klopp or Ancelotti lined up. |

Is it Rodgers actually buying all those players? What I would say though, he's not obliged to accept the signings by the "transfer committee", he should simply have walked away if they are bring in players he doesn't want, so still his fault he didn't resign if the conditions didn't suit him. Hmm. Maybe not all his preferred signings, hard to know, but there are so many mediocre signings in his tenure it's very difficult to believe several of them weren't due to Rodgers. |

I don't think many of the big signings were forced on him, I think he could have vetoed any one of them. As Pizzy said, if they were forced on him he should have walked away. I just don't get this concept of managers not choosing who they want. How can any manager be truly judged if he is not allowed to pick the players he wants to bring in Rodgers has suffered badly from the loss of 3 major players in Suarez, Gerrard & Sterling but in return he had over 120 million to spend ( the return on transfer fees on 2 players he had nothing to do with bringing to Liverpool) & he did say if a manager spent 100 million he would expect to be winning the league so I guess he is a victim of his own standards As a rival I was hoping he would keep his job, I just don't think he was going to improve Liverpool. |

Interesting. We were told, in no uncertain terms on here, that Rodgers is one of a long list of managers better than Wenger. While I would still prefer Wenger to hang up his zippered jacket at season's end, the Rodgers situation goes to show what can happen when the flavor of the month loses his..ermm...flavor, and is the only reason why I still become uncertain, occasionally, of our future sans Wenger. |

Hot rumor is Liverpool are getting Klopp, in which case I'd say this was a very wise move. |
