You could see that Johnson was a liability out there for a good chunk of time leading up to the sub. Something was obviously affecting him (I assumed it was fatigue). It was probably the correct call for Johnson to call for a sub as, at that time, both flanks were getting hammered. Klinsmann playing for pk's there. Nice. And also way to show faith in your starting keeper...

Jurgen threw Johnson under the bus.

Now Jurgen brings in Howard, his number one keeper vs Costa Rica. Why didn't he use him against Mexico???

Klinsmann is not coming out of this smelling like roses in any way. He needs to refocus and stay out of the media for a bit. I don't want him fired, but a dose of humility might be good for the man.

Kamy, the Mexican/US rivalry is littered with bad blood between both players and fans. It legitimately is a case of each side hating the other.
It's pretty standard stuff, no? The closest neighbors always have the bitterest rivalries. International and club football - all sports for that matter - are full of examples. Fucking Giants.
Fucking Chase Uttley.
Similar to an event in the Astros/Yankees one-game playoff with Gregorius taking out Altuve. Not even a thinly disguised attempt to slide into the base. Since there was no season ending injury there was nothing but the usual commentator's blather about the former doing what he had to do to break up the double play. I thought both plays were poor, but until baseball decides to do something serious about that sort of thing you can count on seeing more of it. And... Utley's suspension (if upheld) doesn't qualify as "something serious". It just smacks of an embarrassed commissioner's office trying to get on top of a public relations problem. Fix the rules and have the umpires enforce them. That shit'll end tomorrow. And, of course, Fuck the Giants! Karma?

Now...if the Mets can beat the Cubs they'll be my new #3 team. I've always had a soft spot for the Mets considering who they share a city with. They're who I'm rooting for.
