What is England's best line-up at the moment, assuming everyone is fit?

I would line up at EURO 2016 like this:

-----------------Hart-----------------
Clyne---Smalling---Stones----Gibbs
---------------Dier-------------------
Walcott--Barkley---Wilshere---Rooney
---------------Kane------------------

Erik Dier because he's playing there for Tiny Totts and England need a ball-winner in there. Don't want a repeat of the World Cup where they were so open defensively. Phil Jones is another similar player who can do that role. Maybe Henderson plays for one of Barkley and Wilshere.

Kane up front is self-explanatory. He's not a huge goal scorer, but he's a creative forward who will help bring the midfield into play and create for Rooney and Walcott. Both strikers have to sacrifice themselves for the greater good and play on the flanks. Ox and Sterling might even be better options than Rooney right now.

Not sure what Hodgson is doing, though. Seems like there's way too much experimentation. Maybe in the upcoming friendlies we will see what kind of tactic he has settled on.

Gibbs isn't in the top 3 LB's, let alone the best

My team, assuming everyone is fit & based on a mixture of current form, previous brownie points & some bias would be

------------------------Hart-----------------------

Walker-----Smalling-----Cahill-------Shaw

-------Henderson-------Wilshire--------

Sterling---------Barkley-----------Welbeck

-----------Walcott--------

I like pace, & this team has it in abundance, it could set up slightly differently as a 4-3-3 but the same plays doing the same jobs. As much as I want to select Rooney, I just cant do it on current form, same with Kane, who although is playing well, just isn't finding the net.

Obviously given Shaws, Wilshire's & Welbecks injuries this line up looks very unlikely. Another option would be to have AOC on the right, with Sterling at 10 . I am hoping Loftus Cheek gets some game time at Chelsea. I really like the look of him & he could fill the gaping void of a quality DM that England have lacked for so long

Agree with you on Gibbs but it's a matter if Shaw is back and healthy. Baines is on the decline and I'd be tempted to put Gibbs over him, but not starting for Arsenal makes it tough.

Walker is a disaster to me. He loses focus too easily and relies way too much on his speed. Seems like he's been better this year, although I haven't seen Spurs much and some of that could be down to Poch's defensive system. I think Clyne is miles better.

Walcott up top is interesting but any potential of that happening would obviously hinge on his improvement on that position for the Gunners. We'll also have to see if Sturridge can get back to his best and Rooney/Kane get out of their slump.

LOL bog thinks all you need to win football games is just put 10 outfield players with pace and no football brain out there, that team would fumble big time.

I rate Ryan Bertrand higher than Gibbs , I just don't think Gibbs has progressed at all. I remember Bertand as Cole's understudy & playing for under 21's, he is one of the best crossers of the ball I have seen from a fullback & is sound defensively. he has really come onto his own at Saints & is another example of how playing regularly improves a young player

Clyne pissed me off with his show of petulance in the last international window when he stormed off after not getting much playing time . he may be better than walker, but he needs to bide his time .

Piizzy doesn't think, he just bites like a dumb mutt. Oxlade chamberlain isn't renowned for his football brain yet you rate him ever so highly, higher than Alexis as i recall

the LOL is, as usual, on you
