Wenger appears to be shopping in the front of the store now (Higuain, Suarez and Gustavo) flirting with the store clerks and waving his Platimum card. In all reality, he is waiting for the after summer sale rack at the back of the store. Occasionally there are some mistagged price gems but more than likely damaged goods. He might take on a couple on loan deals on Sep. 2nd if not he'll wait until after X'mas sales (Winter transfer window).

They did. However, I really think Gazidis made the statement about money to force Wenger's hand, to put the ball in his court. That way, if money is not spent and we start badly, he has an excuse to blame Wenger. |

I doubt it's to "blame Wenger",.. I think though it was meant to appease fans via the oft repeated notion that 'for the right player we are willing to spend the right amount'! Well, Higuian was the right player and we offered the 'right' amount, problem is the seller thought it was the wrong amount. And this is the same cycle we have been caught in before. Soon a couple 5m pound cheapo players will drop on our shores, just wait and see! |

He can't complete a transaction if Wenger keep dictating that player x should be bought for amount x nothing more. |

If you don't realize by now that Wenger is the most important decision maker when it comes to football matters at Arsenal, then I don't on know what else you need. If Arsene had insisted on paying what Napoli paid to get Higuaim, Arsenal would have paid the amount. He didn't because he valued Higuain at 22 mil and got out hustled in the market by Napoli. He is naive when it comes to dealing with big boys. Money talks and people don't care what Wenger's player valuations are. Every team is going to sell to the ingest bidder and they understand that is usually not Arsenal. When was the last time Arsenal won a bid for a major player. It has been well over a decade. We have a naive old man who is stuck in the early 2000s running football operations. |

Well, even if your claim is true, you are not factoring in that David dein used to get things done with the same manager. It is Ivan " Bastard" Gazidis job to influence Wenger and make the deals that will take the club forward, in tandem with the manager. Dein did. Gazidis does not. Even if the manager has a certain mindset, if there really is a certain amount of total money for transfers, a footballing man in the seat of Gazidis can get the job done. He is just a commercial marketeer, whose main role is to be the spin chief of Kroenke. |

Wenger is coaching the team , building the team. I don't suppose he got lots of time to be doing and negotiating transfers. My guess is that he could place a valuation on a player and how much he wants the player . He might have the final say in getting the deals done. But I can't believe Wenger will want to miss out on a player he really wants for let's say 5 million pounds. Maybe he will but. If Lizard man is a footballing guy and he can do the job. He can say Fark wenger. I will sign this guy for 5 million or even 10 million extra. I live by my decision and I take full responsibilty for it. Since you want him. here he is Wanker. Joel campbell saga was a joke, chasing a player half way around the globe who hasn't even got his work permit to play for us in the reserves , much less the first team. When our first team needed strengthening. The transfer guys are broken I tell you . Dein is a turn coat trying to bring in Stan Koker . Then the fat Oily Ubackside and finally lining his pockets But he gets the player Wenger wants, he is not only a businessman but a shrewd negotiator. He at least gets the job done. Lizard man ? He should just sign up for the band. Constantly tooting his horn . But all hot air but no action. |

One thing I can't help but wondering. Is Man U's interest in Cesc holding us back in the transfer market ? We know Cesc doesn't want to leave Baka. And out of respect for Cesc, we are not throwing money at Baka to tempt them to sell him. But Man U is . Man U doesn't have that issue with Cesc. If Man U can turn Baka's head with money and they decide to offload Cesc. We got the first option to sign him. And we got to have the money ready. We can surely match that and bring back our prodigal son. If you ask me , whether I will take Suarez or Cesc for 50 million. My choice is clear. I will take Cesc back even for 60 million or even use up all our transfer kitty , our transfer pussy , our transfer piggy and transfer doggie and our huge transfer willy all together to bring him home. We don't need a new striker with Cesc. A straw man can score 30 goals with Cesc in the side. Edited by WX_Hitman, Aug 16 2013, 07:26 AM.

Cesc Fabregas has nothing to do with Arsenal failure in this window, I don't even think we are concerned about him going to United. Barcelona have 3 midfielders, one of them is 33 (would be 34 in January), why on earth would they sell Cesc? It is not like the player even wants to leave. In a couple of years at most, Cesc should be starting in place of Xavi for Barca. |

I'll make it easy. Both Gazidis and Wenger can hit the road, Jack. Even if players are brought in before the window ends (suicide if they don't), this summer has been a complete shambles. It's obvious that neither man has the first clue about bringing in "super qualiteee" players. All Wenger knows is how to get the 10 million pound guy or to pounce on the guy at a club in financial trouble. And thanks, Gazidis, for the sponsorship deals. Now your services will no longer be needed as there are dozens more around the world that could've done the exact same thing. And maybe Kroenke needs a bit more Roman in him. "I'm buying this player and you can figure out how to make it work, Wenger. I'm YOUR boss after all." This window has been fucking depressing. This season is going to be a repeat of last year...if we're lucky. I'm really not even excited for the game on Saturday... |
