Hug? More like a sixer of craft beer, a hiatus from work, a few "super, super" signings, and an assurance that Wenger won't be reupping after this season. I agree, though...let's wait until the transfer window slams shut and see what we've got (or didn't get). Then...the axe. |

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/arsenal/10248617/Arsene-Wenger-says-lack-of-Arsenal-signings-not-his-fault.html How can one not be upset after these types of comments? How can anyone defend this obstinate has been? |

Funny, in another thread I just reminded our colleagues of this "....but reiterated his stance that the club are prepared to spend if – and only if – the player is right." I'm of the opinion that 'right' refers to the likes of Chamakh, Djourou and Arteta. |

He talks about finding the 'right' player and adds the caveat that the other club must be willing to sell. sooo...were Real Madrid and Bayern Munich not willing to sell then, Arsene? Higuain was practically begging to come here and Real was obviously willing to let him go. Bayern was obviously willing to let Gustavo go, and while there's some indication he'd rather stay in Germany, I think he was trying to "big up" his move to Wolfsburg. I'm sure the linked article was meant to stir stuff up, but Wenger hasn't exactly covered himself in glory this summer. |

What the fuck is Wenger saying? I have been defending him but just hearing him give this old played out excuse pissed me off. "It is not about spending money but finding the right players", what does that mean? Historically when things look good and Arsenal look not too far off requiring only one or two players to make forward progress, we don't do anything. I remember the year we were 5 points ahead of United, I kept hoping we just strengthen in January. That year we sat pat during that transfer window and the team fell apart. Although the Eduardo injury played a role, the real reason we faltered in the end was our lack of dept. We played the same 11 guys until they couldn't move. That is Arsenal in a nutshell, if fourth place suddenly looks in jeopardy, we would find the right players. I don't think Wenger has really had any ambition to win the league for a while now. |

He's saying nothing we haven't heard a 100 times before. I don't actually see where he directly says, "It's not my fault." Looks like author just extrapolated that from AW's comments. Two hours away from kickoff and I'm completely flabbergasted that we've spent nothing this summer. |

I never had an issue with you Jay . And I am not about to start having one with you . So let's leave it as that. No apologies needed. As for Dreamteam. It's a different story altogether.................I rather just ignore and pass rather than start arguing and fights. Edited by WX_Hitman, Aug 17 2013, 07:49 AM.
