Cabaye seems to have the ability if not the durability to be worth much more, but this business of making "derisory" offers for players has become an exercise in self-parody.
Exactly! "Derisory" is the best description of how we behave in the transfer market. I wonder if any club takes us seriously out there,...?

Speaking of "derisory" offers, ManU bid 28 mil for both Felliani and Baines and got rejected immediately. While insulted at the offer, what Everton failed to mention is that the players weren't for sale. So naturally, WHERE THE FUCK ARE WE AT WITH THIS????

Surely we can offer 35-40 mil for those two and see what happens. I swear if ManU swing a deal for those two for anything less than 35 mil, I will go ballistic.
Maybe Moyes has some influence with these players

Fellaini, yes, but Baines ??

Utd have the best LB in the prem in Evra & 2 very capable understudies in buttner & Fabio

"Utd have the best LB in the prem in Evra"

That is definitely up for debate, especially in recent years. I was always considered Cashley Cole to be the best LB in the Prem. In any case you would agree that at 32 years old Evra would have to be replaced at some point, Baines is probably the best available LB in the Prem. Buttner & Fabio can remain as understudies, they haven;t shown anything which suggests they warrant selection in the starting 11.

A Cole is the best LB in the EPL and has been for the past decade. Haines is actually the second best right now followed by Evra and Clichy.

Am I the only one who does not want Rooney. Besides the fact that I personally rate him just above average and declining.... I think He's played on a "winner" at ManU, but whenever the tough got going there, he became unpredictable. He would be coming into a situation at Arsenal that is very much less stable then he was used to at ManU and in the long run would not be happy here.

I also agree with cruyff_turn... there is no way ManU turned down Mata for Rooney....... no way.
I would be with you on that one. I don't think Wenger is enough of a disciplinarian that he could deal with Rooneys various proclivities. Even if Rooney was at the stage of his career where he brought something (and you are right to dismiss it) better than what we already have, I think the price of that being referees being berated, screams into cameras when scoring, diving, and off field etc etc would be to high for most Arsenal fans.

If Wenger can handle whining Jack, dealing with pouting Rooney would be a walk in the park & he is still a better player than anybody on Arsenals roster, hence his appeal to Chelsea, who unlike Arsenal, look to buy quality that will win them major trophies

Up for debate, absolutely

Last season , IMO Evra was far better than Cashley. . Baines is harder to gauge, he plays for a team without the talent of either Chelsea or Utd. That could work for or against him. Evra is just one of a multitude of attacking options wereas Baines is almost the go to player for Everton.

Baines crosses better, but Evra beats players which in turn draws defenders out. baines takes all set pieces, which accounts for his much higher assist & crossing stats. defensively I would prefer Evra, he is quicker &b tackles more than Baines

My main point is that Utd do not need another LB, they do however desperately need at least one one, probably a couple, of quality additions in midfield
