Arsenal Transfer Business What a MASSIVE clear out. Have never seen this kind of mass exodus. Now only Bendtner and Chu-Yung to dump and that's the dead wood finally dealt with at Arsenal. In Yaya Sanogo (Auxerre) Free Full Story Out Andrey Arshavin (Zenit St Petersberg) Free Francis Coquelin (Freiburg) Loan Denilson (Sao Paulo) Free Johan Djourou (Hamburg) Loan Craig Eastmond (Colchester United) Free Kyle Ebecilio (Twente) Free Vito Mannone (Sunderland) Undisclosed Full story Sebastien Squillaci Released Sanchez Watt (Colchester United) Free Jordan Wynter (Bristol City) Free Jernade Meade (Swansea City) Free Andre Santos (Flamengo) Undisclosed Chamakh (Crystal Palace) Gervinho (Roma) So thatz 14 players out - lets assume average wage of 30,000 Pounds per week and we have 420,000 Pounds per week savings from these players. Now we can easily get top marquee signings with wages in excess of 150,000 Pounds per week. But we still prefer haggling and missing out on the likes of Higuain, Jovetic etc. Despite not winning anything we could still attract quality players - we have considerable resources, CL football, popular league, attractive city and no pressure to succeed. It's not that players won't come, it's that we dont want to pay the money for them. Wenger shops in his imaginary market where quality players cost 30-50% less. Its unbelievable the way we do business. Is the club really serious on winning? Edited by KamyFC, Aug 5 2013, 01:18 AM.

The terrible thing is with the names on the list that we sold or released was at a loss. Btw, what's happening with Diaby? We really have no choice but to let him go. |

Sadly Diaby will receive another year of inflated wages for being in the sick bay. |

Nope we are not serious in other trophies , not even the emirates cup. The only trophy we are serious in winning is 4th spot. But with Sperms getting a vitality boost, we might be thrown off 4th for the first time. Assuming Bale stays. |

Hitman - we were serious in the Emriates trophy we were just not good enuf. 2 weeks more to go and the team looks in bad shape against quality opposition. The game against Money City will be an acid test. For once this summer i thot we are goin to do our transfer business early and have a good preseason. But looks like we will still haggle around on Aug 31st for bargains.

Kamy, if we are serious of winning the Emirates cup, we won't be using our youngsters. But the Emirates cup is not my area of concern. The real issue is how are we going to strengthen. Suarez if he arrives, will help with the forward problem. We are still light on midfield without Arteta. Are we expecting Ramsey to step into Arteta shoes if he is injured, or have Wilshere do a deep lying midfielder role ? And now Sagna is covering for CB. We need another CB who can play multiple positions. Or we got to get Enrique Ignasi up to speed and dancing to the tune of the first team. If we can keep Rosicky and Wilshere fit. We can still get by. But a few more bodies will be welcomed. Edited by WX_Hitman, Aug 6 2013, 09:23 AM.

http://arseblog.com/ It's August 8th and I'm officially panicking. Last year we have completed our last purchase on August 7th and we didn't have any CL qualifiers. I'm not convinced that on Sep. 2nd, players like Rooney or Suarez would arrive at our club. We still have not sorted our own players in Chamakh, Park, Bendy, Frimpong, Sagna and Fabianski. What's going on? We were linked to virtually every super quality players on the planet after our victory at Newcastle to now latest link to a waived Romanian Schalke striker. We may yet make money again in this transfer window. I'm not sure if I can stomach another nail biting season to qualify for 4th. For sure we will lose the likes of Kos, Carzola and yes Wilshere next summer. |
