Seems not much has changed from the old boards! Still abound the same tired and prejudiciary underpinnings...
You know, I never bought that stuff about the old board.

The proof is really in the pudding. If the ESPN board was that bad, this board would not be what it is - full of opinions, vigour and life.

All that high morality is bullshit. It's like watching the "sombre and concerned" expression of a newscaster while reporting on genocide somewhere in this world. At the end of the news telecast he/she has his/her life to live and can leave behind that expression, and return to his/her mask in the some subsequent newscast.

Heck, the Native Indians of North America got slaughtered , and get dressed up as some exotic freaks and have their culture cleansed, and America is the land of the free. It is what it is. The one who access strategic power gets to trample on the downtrodden (better if its cloaked up with some "morality')

Leave morality out of these boards. It is used for the higher purpose of real exploitation.

Just have fun. If it is not fun for you, don't get involved.

I am just a little surprised nobody in this thread mentions anything about Ivan Gazidis in the transfer activity loop.

What is that bloke's job at Arsenal Football Club?

David Dein used to get things done with no fuss and pronto.
I really don't know what his job is. I know he's got a fancy job title though in that counts for something.
In fairness Gazidis has done superb work to get us out of some of the less lucrative sponsorship. He has done that all year since last summer. He deserve credit for that as we are now pulling money in like never before. However, I wondered why he hasn't been the "Dein" of transfers, hands on and very actively talking to other clubs once targets are identified.
Let's not rain down to much praise here for Ivan. It didn't take a genius to get us more lucrative sponsopship deals this time around. All Ivan had to do was look around at what other big clubs were getting as an easy starting point for negotiations. Anything would've been a huge jump from before.

Exactly! You don't have to be a rocket scientist to negotiate contract that were better than the ones we signed before. Gazidis remains a figurehead when it comes to football matters. He is way out of his depth.

Unfortunately, though not posting much, I thought the new board represents a new leaf - one where opinions to the discourse reign supreme instead of ,..you know that stuff we had back there. Just read the first 2/3 pages of this thread to see where I drew my deductions.

Well AH, I'm hoping that the deductions you you drew from the first three pages included the opening post of this thread. The OP chose to make his "same tired" case by erroneously linking to a thread that practically saluted Wenger. He was rightly panned by myself and others for this bit of silliness.

There has been marked improvement from most posters here when it comes to sticking to the conversation and avoiding conflict on this new forum. From the technology to the overall spirit of discussion, this forum is light years ahead of its predecessor.

If the biggest kit deal was 5 mil a season and then Ivan suddenly got us 20-25 mil as season, then he would get credit. If Ivan saw an untapped Asian market and decided to be the first to go on a preseason tour there for easy money, he would get credit. That's not what happened here. It's not as if Ivan blazed some new trail at Arsenal. He simply followed in the well worn path created by other clubs.

Here's all the credit I can give Ivan: At least he was competent enough to read the huge bright flashing neon billboards pointing the way for him. If they weren't there to show him path than I'm sure he still be fumbling around in the dark. He's about the least innovative guy out there at the moment.

Perversely Anelka Henry is right. We still have people who don't read all the way down before posting a link because the headline seems right. The best thing about this thread is it uses the word ABSURD. And that it is.

Perhaps JODB, but by noting the "OP chose to make his.." is exactly what I'm referring to. Instead of focusing on the matter posted, some went viral after concisously linking the subject matter to a certain individual then decided to thrash the 'individual' at the expense of the subject matter. {History and/or past prejudices played a big role in what ensued.}

That said, overall the new boards are better.
