Suarez Bombshell

Well I think now it is highly unlikely that Suarez will ever play a competitive game for Liverpool again, the question is where will he end up? I am very surprised at how quiet Madrid has been during this whole Suarez saga, all the circumstances are in favour of them signing him.

(1) Pool would much prefer to sell to a club outside of England
(2) Madrid would be well aware that Arsenal is not likely to engage them in a bidding war and would therefore face very little competition in signing the player.
(3) After selling Higuain, Madrid is currently light in the striker department.
(4) Suarez most likely wants to go to Madrid, he has voiced his displeasure of living in England.
(5) Suarez would not have to miss the first 6 games of the La Liga season.

However, when Madrid is interested in a player, the entire world hears about it and one can infer from their quietness that they are not pursuing Suarez.

one caller called into talksport and suggested we pursue Rooney instead and play a diamond shape, with Rooney in the middle, OX, Theo on the wings, and Wilshere playing behind.. This will help England in 2014, also the players will arguably have better chemistry than Suarez by playing with each other on international duty.
I am glad the Wayne Rooney story was just a story, I don't think I could ever stomach seeing him in an Arsenal kit.

This didn't strike me as a bombshell at all. I was assuming we'd see something like it sooner or later as the player has so far not gotten his own way. If we end up signing him we can look forward to being on the other side of a similar drama a couple of years from now when Real Madrid come calling.
As long as he gives us a couple of years of good service and help us win trophies, who cares if he leaves after that. I mean it is not as if we have had a bunch of loyal servants down the years, have we? Remember Vieira, Henry, Adebayor, Song, Nasri, Cesc, RVP - these guys did not exactly leave because the club wanted to sell them at the time but because it had no choice! We just don't moan as much as others do about it even when we sell to our direct rivals. So yes, we should be used to this by now. It is simply the reality today and I expect Suarez may want to leave if and when Real, Barca, etc come calling.
Apart from the two real mercenaries on your list, you're comparing a group of players who averaged eight years with Arsenal to a guy who has averaged 2 and a half years per club and for the third time in six years is trying to force a move. I get that most players these days are sure the grass is greener elsewhere but Suarez takes it to a new level.

Solely judging on his playing ability he does deserve to play for a club in the cl much like Bale would too.

I don't know why you are bothered about him leaving us, he stayed with liverpool for good 2 and half years, the worst is he will stay with us for 2 years then another big club comes knocking, and they would make an offer that would result in arsenal making profit. BTW there's little or no chance that Real madrid would be interested in suarez in 2 years time because
1)They tend to go for players below 27 years
2)If they aren't interested in suarez now that he's in his peak why would they be interested in 2 years time when he might be slightly past his peak?

Suarez is not taking it to a new level
All his moves are 100% football reasons (to better his career), gronigen to ajax to liverpool to Arsenal??

Compare that to Adebayor,Nasri going to city, ibrahimovic, lavecci, cavani to psg, Falcao to Monaco, eto'o to anzhi enough said

exactly I don't understand how he's taking it to a new level by trying to leave the dutch league for the premier league, and now trying to join a club higher up in the league standing with UCL footy.

As I feared, a player who word is not as good as his bond. It is shameful that this has happened.
My disdain for Suarez is well known, but if Rogers did break a verbal agreement then the heinous one has every rite to speak out publicly about it
An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

for those that say Suarez is not a no 9
good watch

Wow, I did not appreciate how good Suarez is on free kicks. I remember RVP taking all of ours but rarely ever scoring! He was an expert at hitting the wood work.
Suarez is really good with free kicks, certainly better than RVP. He is right now probably the best in the premiership.
