The conclusion to be drawn is that clearly the squad is not in need of any further reinforcing.

3 fucking nil. My favorite score line.
You don't cover that in pre-season, do you?
No I'm kicking myself. I don't expect it to be the final score line though.

I have never heard of sebestien Perez.
If I'm not mistaken, he's that Ligue 2 player that's on trial.

And good that you didn't make that bet!

That is in a way correct.... we have a good starting 11... its the bench that i am worried about... we have sold 4 and yet bought in only 1... even last season we were short in personnel.... we need cover in all areas that is what worries me even more

The Post-match Report (From The Desk):

Considering that this was a test against top Prem competition just a week before the opener, this little dress rehearsal might reveal some of Wenger's idea for deploying the talent on hand. That The Ox and Theo played the entire match along with Ramsey playing most of it shows me that pace will be a key for domestic play at least.

Did the splitting of time between Jack and Santi indicate a reluctance to pair the duo in the midfield? I hope so, because until those two become the new Xavi and Iniesta, they leave the team too prone to being counter attacked.

It would appear that Giroud might have a match or two to prove that Suarez would be a luxury and not a necessity. From what I saw from today's match, Podolski might be the odd man out for a while.

Kos looked strong until he tried to actually match strength with Negredo. Next time, he'll use his pace to handle big guys like that.

After the first fifteen minutes, City seemed to fade so badly that I was left to question their fitness relative to that of the Gunners. I know that with the new signings, City is in the getting to know you period, but they looked the physically inferior team for most of the match.

Good showing, but Suarez is still a deal I could sink my teeth into.

To be fair, our boys looked the much more clinical finishers in this game. We didn't have too many shots on goal, but we made them count. And Joe Hart looked like a floppity fish out there. He'll want to forget about this game and move on. The $ity players would be kicking themselves if their finishing looks yesterday's in an encounter that matters.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Ramsey fucking owned it yesterday.

I would agree with the comments above for the most part. Our players are timing their intensity towards the end of pre season to perfection. The sharpness, while not fully present, is showing. Hopefully the supposed crisis with preparation for the new season can now be binned as a discussion point.

Ramsey was ubiquitous yesterday. He is the most like Roy Keane I have ever seen in a player, though I know he attacks more. His goal crowned a superb, focussed and hard fought shift in midfield. Let's hope there are many more displays like that one this season.
