a) We have Huge Cash Balance - £154m . The largest in Europe! Are we sitting on a Hedge fund or something? :P
b) Keith Edelman in 2005 said the same thing. Gazidiz in 2013 says the same thing. - Same old Same old :X
c) Obviously - all of Arsenal’s cash balance is NOT available for transfers. B-)
d) We still need to repay the LOAN - annual payment of around £19 million, covering interest and repayment of the principal. :-/
e) The new £150 million commercial deal with Emirates (shirt sponsorship and stadium naming rights) - does not commence until 2014
f) We are moving away From Nike- Puma kit 2014 supply deal (widely reported, though not yet officially confirmed), while the
astounding new Premier League 2013/14 TV deal should generate at least £30 million more for a top four club.
g) We have also made an incredible £190 million of profits in the last five years. In fact, the last time that the club made a loss was a decade ago in 2002. This is virtually unparalleled in the cutthroat world of professional football. - We are a MONEY making Machine :)
h) Much of this excellent performance has been down to profits from player sales - Sadly :(
i) Since 2009 wages have grown by 38% to £143 million - Our Socialist Wage Policy is to blame :-/

j) To Phato's point of buying 4 or 5 Camry's is kind of valid like Manchester City have done by buging Stevan Jovetic, Fernandinho, Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo
while Spurs have acquired Paulinho, Roberto Soldado and Nacer Chadli.
All are Camry's. While we seem to be focussed on Suarez.

k) Under FFFP, UEFA will look at aggregate losses - so Arsenal’s recent record of large profits would hold them in good stead
Gazidiz says - “football is moving powerfully in our direction.” - Wow. Gazidiz is a quote master :P

l) We DONT have a structure - Lack of a proper transfer structure - only two teams in the Premier League with genuine sporting directors are the ones who have appeared the most prepared, structured and with clear strategies in their work in the summer transfer market.
when it comes to Arsenal - There may well be a great deal of activity behind the scenes, but the results speak for themselves. :(

-----------

Great read. Thanks for posting. We are run in a responsible manner. I like that in Arsenal. But still there are so many areas of improvement needed by management/board in the way we conduct transfers/get away from the socialist wage structure/better commercial deals etc

As the last sentence says it all
Its time to provide some substance to Gazidis’ statements that Arsenal are “extraordinarily ambitious” and “ready to compete with any club in the world”

I have said it time and time again, Arsenal should have scouted and found 2-3 players in the 20-25 mil pound range to sign. I believe with proper scouting and making the right type of signings, a 25mil pound player today could be a 50-100mil pound player a few years down the road.

Arsenal right now are like a guy that has a beat down car, runs into some money and decides to buy the latest Benz, limited edition when a Toyota Camry would suffice. Right now there is no Benz and he is stuck with a beat down car. The idea that a club that has been working wonders spending 12-15mil on players can't do better if we could spend twice that on players made no sense to me. We were looking for the home run and that has left is with nothing.

Phato, interesting analogy, but to Le Boss' defense, I suspect he won't buy the Camry because he can build [groom] his own? Arguably, a camry is less sophisticated than the latest benz, just sayin'?

What we know though (for certain) is AW hasn't even bought a Benz, he has bought too many Camrys that never managed to excite anybody!
We don't have enough Camry's right now. Manchester United are a team of Camry's with one or two Benzes. We have had Benzes in the past and not won anything. I can understand the clamor for a Benz because for the first time in a long time we really don't have that Benz in the team but a Benz is not going to take us to our destination alone. At this rate we would end up with nothing if we are only focused on buying a Benz.
I'm of the opinion that presently he's looking at creating some balance in the team. Agreed, we don't have enough camrys but there is some in the garage. Not much excitement there. What's lacking is a Benz just to let the neighbors know we belong!
That is what scares me, letting the neighbors know we belong is exactly the wrong reason to buy a Benz. Anyway enough of the automobile analogy, I feel Arsenal got into this thing for the wrong reason, we wanted to sign one big name player and it just seemed like it didnt matter who we signed. It made us seem unfocused in the transfer window and now we ended up signing nobody.

Funny. Lets just stretch the auto analogy a lil bit more.

This model of Benz (Suarez) has huge maintenance issues. And will start wheezing OIL a year from now to get out. Id avoid that model and never understood these bids.

Best is to go Electric. Tesla Model S.
Top performance when needed, virtually no maintenance, silent - even though the upfront cost can be expensive. (Anelka_Henry - we can still show our neighbors :P)
Where is that electric player in the market? I thought Higuain was that model.

Higuain would have made a nice addition, but he's no Tesla. More like an Acura. Classy, but not that classy.

Well, it wasn't a 370Z, or anything, but it could still move! This is my favorite pic. We flew down/back to Jamaica on this jet and I was allowed to drive my car out on the tarmac so I could load our bags directly into the car.
