It was only going to be a matter of time before this happened. Now, we are to face the CL qualifications, without the main leader, organizer, and calming influence of the team. If by the end of this transfer window if we are facing CL exit or have not signed any major signings, Arsenal fans should rise up against the current custodians of the club. Boycott from the games, Boycott from watching Arsenal. And bring real power to the Arsenal Football Club and the fans who love the club. Edited by Gunner_PV4, Aug 16 2013, 09:24 AM.

It's been miraculous how many games Arteta has played for us over the last 2 seasons. I don't think there is anyone out there who didn't see this coming. |

Even if he was to be injury free this season, I still wanted a top DM brought in to at least split matches with the Spaniard, if not outright replace him. His age alone would seem to dictate that you find someone to at least share the load. Gustavo may be gone, but Arsenal should now be a motivated buyer in the DM/CB market now. A blessing in disguise, but not having Arteta in the CL qualifiers would be tricky. Wenger will have to buy someone. I just cant understand why we did not push to sign Gustavo. Edited by KamyFC, Aug 16 2013, 10:37 PM.

To be fair only three (AA, Vito and Gervinho) are worth making noise for. The rest are better off paid by somebody. And considering we are happy to let AA leave for nothing, only two left and bringing in one leaves a net outflow of just one player! I think we are still 'balanced'. The other players mentioned contributed very little, so by bringing in one 4th place is still ours to lose!

It doesn't matter who Wenger buys for CL qualifiers because the squad list was already submitted on august 12th... so who we have now is whose going to Turkey. |

While true, we're now going into the league season short on players. If this team drops points early on this season, the atmosphere at the Emirates is going to be poisonous. |

Diaby still has a knee injury? Anyway The real question I have is did we get to this point by design or by accident. How many deals did we attempt to pull off this summer and how many have fallen though. Looking at our squad, there has to be more than Gustavo, Higuain and Suarez as our transfer activity for the entire summer.if that is all we did all summer then that level of incompetence is simply mind boggling. If we did more than this then then you have to also ask questions about our ability to get things done. The idea that we have been unable to complete one transfer in almost 3 months, whether it is finding the right players or making the deals happen is unbelievable. |
