If The Ox was not carrying a knock that required his replacement, Wenger got that substitution wrong. Dead wrong. Even if he was hurt, I'd have brought on Podolski for The Ox and Santi for Jack.

One more point I would still blame the fucking bald ref 25% of the loss. I won't shed a single drop of tear if he dies tonight. The Villa thugs kick us all over the pitch up until the 93rd min the match already sealed Agbalawhore still kicked Wilshere and finally got his yellow card. I know Chester should have been sent off but still fuck the ref. fuck villa. fuck Wenger.

Though I fall a bit short of your anger here, I do feel your pain. I'll assign 25% of the blame to each of:

Ivan/Arsene
The midfield
The ref
Myself for not authoring a winning match thread

Refuse to blame the ref on this loss. This Arsenal team is not good enough. While we use to have Pires and Ljungberg to provide good crosses and passes, we now have Walcott who needs several attempts before he can deliver a good one (cos he's not even looking where he is crossing). Even Gervinho would have posed more threat today. This is the same problem with Jenks. Secondly, we lack size and muscle in the middle. When we have our opponents pressing hard when we have possession, we badly need someone who can muscle his way through like a bulldozer but we can't. There is no hardman, DM like Vieira or Petit, Flamini even Song. Its obvious that Villa sees that as our problem and they bullied us perfectly. Pardon me, but I feel that even Joey Barton would be a good signing for Arsenal right now. Mertesacker is a problem in our defence. He is like a replay in slow mo. I acknowledge his ability on air but on the ground, he just look clumsy. There are so many faults in this Arsenal team. You just cannot trust some players to do a good job and that means these players are average and not good enough for Arsenal. One player I have to commend today is Rosicky. He dribbled, run into spaces, worked really hard unlike some other players who are just content to play a simple pass. Rosicky managed to create openings in the Villains defence. He held the ball, charged towards the defence not afraid to take them on. The biggest culprit is Wenger. He has so much time to improve this team. It was obvious in the pre season game against Galatasaray, how important Arteta is. But he did not address the issue still. We are just one CB injury away to a very disastrous season and its still not addressed. What if Giroud gets injured? Podolski has proved that he is not capable of playing in that role.

Darn. Robin Van Pursie scores against Swansea. Man U play bad but they just manage to win bcos of thier lethal attack .
Totally agree Kam, Utd won on the back of the brilliance & clinical finishing of RVP & also on the back of the prems best CB pairing

Utd were 2nd best in most areas, possession, attempts on goal etc. yet come out clear winners

Utd desperately need a big, mean, fast ball winning CM with a great engine. There are goals galore in the Utd team IF they get enough possession to create

So do we draw conclusions from this game?

To be honest, I wouldn't even know where to start. One conclusion that can definitely be drawn is that Arsenal fans have a very difficult and frustrating season to look forward to. The game was certainly reffed poorly, but lets be honest, a good team would not have lost this game at home today. We really look like the same old Arsenal, we haven't made any progress from last year and at the end of the day we just aren't a good team.
