The reality check today was for me more of a wake up call than the disaster at Old Trafford two years back. I would imagine every potential transfer target left just had at least 10-2-% added to his sale price.

I was just thinking the same thing. And we can kiss getting Suarez good-bye.... if Liverpool are thinking they only have to get past us for a CL spot, that looks VERY possible now.

I thought at OT we learnt our mistakes, but now it seems we are taught one right at our own doorsteps.

Wenger...... Lizard man and Stan Koker......... guilty as charged.

Wenger, is the only one I might exonerate for the transfer dealings.

Why is the Liverpool boss immersing himself in team transfer matters and backing up his manager publicly, and silent Stan leaves Wenger, the players and Arsenal to drown.

Almost any team in any top league in Europe bidding against Arsenal for a player would look at their "war chest" the same way that Goldman Sachs might view a kid with a piggy bank when making an acquisition.

Falcao in a Arsenal shirt. You heard it here first. Or maybe you heard it somewhere else first. But you heard it here.

Marca reported that. I'm not holding out for any big signings but now only 1 name can save us. Wayne Rooney. We need a versatile and able player like that. Versatalibilty (not a word) is the key.

I also think if we had Fellaini in place of Ramsey today. We would have fucking won today.

I could make a pretty good argument that buying one player helped united to the title last year... that was RvP and they paid £24million for him.

That said, we are NOT United... and spending £24million on one player will not help us win anything this year.... nor will spending £55million on one player (Suarez) or £70million on one player (Falcao).

Since I am not one to just be a blow hard and offer no solutions.... here is what I would do if I had £70million to splash... granted.... striker options are now limited (thanks for waiting til the last minute Arsenal!!)

£25 - Marouane Fellaini
£3.5 - Julio Caesar
£12 - Ashley Williams
£38 - Stephan El Shaarawy

They did? Marca?

Sign him up!

Incidentally, weren't you supposed to make some dire prediction about the upcoming season, as you did with the USMNT about 13 games ago? Or was that someone else.

If it was you I blame you for today.
