Agree wholeheartedly. 2nd-best fullback and 3rd-best CB at the club. Quality depth. |

Bacardi Sagna - Sign Da Thing! Wenger can easily extract another 4 years from our Bacardi by playing him at CB. |

Last year I said I was concerned about Sagna's double femur injury. While he recovered quickly I think that this is going to limit his career when he's in his 30s. Hopefully a move to centre half doesn't put that injury at greater risk. In the interests of continuity we need him to stay another year. However, if there is a better player I say we should go and get him. |

I will only rarely be against finding and signing a better player (Exhibit A: Luis Suarez), but even if the club do find one, Sagna is the type of player who should be retained. He has enough to offer both by way of ability and experience that another two years is a minimal risk. Just as important, or more really: Where the signing of Ozil represents a statement of intent, so too would the signing of a player who has given his best years to the club without complaint, fuss or controversy. He's been a consummate professional and a class act from the day he walked into The Emirates - exactly the kind of guy we should reward. We need to show the man and the league that commitment is a two-way street. Edited by dsch15, Oct 14 2013, 01:27 PM.

If Sagna , didn't remake himself as a reliable CB , maybe we should give him a 1 year contract. But to hold on to the player. 2 years contract to reward loyalty should be the way to go. Jerky .......well ........is still Jerky. Sagna did not jump ship so unlike his other colleagues. He could be winning trophies maybe in Man U or City , but stayed true to Arsenal. Seldom does he get himself wrapped in controversy. Only when we are tight fisted with out money , and he is looking for a contract extension, he prods a little here and there , but which player does not ? He is Mr reliable . Even when his standards fell last season. He came back strongly and make himself a vital part of the team , in the run in . I say give the man his wages and more. |

He should be signed and given the fucking armband out of respect. Sagna has always played the game without fear, and that alone makes him a great leader. I've used the term "faithful servant of The Arsenal" many times on this forum, but in Bacary's case, those words should eventually be on his headstone. |

Bump. Can we please give this man the armband even if we know that it has been a curse for the last decade or so? |
