Insecure is a poor choice of words, but it's impossible to argue Wenger ain't stubborn. Like most things, it has its gifts and curses.
Stubborn? On certain things, he is.

But I think if he didn't already appreciate Bould's input and advice he wouldn't have appointed him as his assistant.
People have the perception of them as polar opposites almost, but I'm willing to bet they are very close in their view of football.
Polar opposites, when they can find their stride working for the same cause, create a complementary force stronger than the inclusion of any "yes man" can provide. But credit to Wenger for being secure enough to bring in Bould in the first place.

People like Chilly:
Goat 2 stuburn, will only appoint "yes man" as assistant.

Then after Wenger appoints Bould and allows him to influence the team, suddenly our improvement is down to Wenger listening to Bould.

They don't see the contradiction.

If you agree with me that Bould is a strong personality who has had an impact on the team, then you will also agree that he was a great hire by Wenger that took an equally strong personality to make.

if he aint yes man then d dictator blind sides him with wotever whim takes his fancy....happen everyday in d 3rd world. guess we should b happy no more updates in dis area with all d wins we've been achieving.
wenger needs 2 b d yes man in all matters of defence u'd think. i mean wenger intially won titles on back of another managers defensive vision while proving 4 eight yrs he couldnt correct defensive woes at d club.
we salute u mr bould!

Consider the source of that article: Stewart Robson. No one has a bigger axe to grind than that guy.

Though the testimony of Robson hardly provides us with a smoking gun, let's take everything that he said at face value. The character was shown when Wenger didn't hire the "yes man" that Robson refers to.

Regardless, things are a little more black and white in your opinion of Wenger than they are in mine. As you must have some additional insight that I haven't been blessed with, further discourse of this sort would seem rather pointless, don't you think?

fortunately or unfortunately footy is black & white affair dat only deals with objective & not d subjective hence wengers subjectives have held him back for almost a decade...but surely he appears to b back on track which we grateful 4.
