2 things about the goal. 1. It was a typical Wilshere move. Committing defenders and lightening quick 1-2s in tight spaces to beat them. It was not a similar goal but it reminded me of an Arshavin goal back in 2010 against Partizan Belgrade. There was a cute little backheel from Wilshere in a crowded box to Arshavin who finished first time. Lack of space or time doesn't seem to bother Wilshere because he's just thinks so quickly. 2. This type of move is something we'll see more of. Our midfielders love using Giroud as a wall to bounce passes off. Last season we would try it but Giroud wasn't up to it, and perhaps the understanding wasn't there. Rosicky produced 2 clear cut chances vs Villa via 1-2s with Giroud which should've won us the game. And now Wilshere scored from a similar although more spectacular looking move. Giroud's style of always looking for the one-touch pass/shot is reaping benefits. Doesn't give the defenders/goalkeeper any time to anticipate, and allows for quick combinations around the box. |

I like the analogy of being Bergkamp's ball wall. |
