This will run and run; Jon Snow of C4 gives SAF a kicking

Enjoy this. The PR whitewash applied to SAF for bullying his way to trophies is described in this as "Godhead status". A craven and fawning media was created to worship the deity, after breaking and eliminating media that held critical views. Top football correspondents either went along with it, or they got fired and went freelance or wrote books (Michael Crick). Certain media outlets like SKY have never once allowed dissent towards MU. The BBC had to bow and worship and apologise for their exposé of miss dealings involving his son, the football agent.

The funny thing about the interview is that it starts with a tough question, "how different would this book be if you weren't still a director at United?" And it doesn't get easier. SAF looks shocked that it appears to go downhill and blusters. It's almost painful to watch the rabbit caught in the headlights. Almost...

Former players are going to hit back.

That whole exchange just had me in stitches. I know this is sacrilege, but I like Roy Keane. Also loved Lee Dixon playing the dumb jock there at the end.

I would imagine that even a celebrity like Sir Fungus needed to offer up something sexy if he wanted a big publishing house to print his book. That doesn't absolve him from rightfully being thought a disloyal cunt by Keane and Beckham, but it is a sad commentary on what must be served up to appeal to tabloid tastes.

Also, missed an obvious quote here.

"You know nothing, Jon Snow."

The part that has me laughing is Roy Keane lecturing his old boss about loyalty and still looking like he has a point. Remember the island of Saipan in 2002. But the big thing is that if Keane looks like he has you on loyalty, you must indeed be a scoundrel.

Wayne Rooney has taken the opportunity to welcome the book as clarifying SAF now doesn't believe that he requested a transfer. Which means SAF lied about this in the summer. I'm going to post my thoughts in detail once I've read the book.

Exactly. Just because one criminal is indicting another doesn't mean the charges won't stick.

And when the guy who agrees to do a fly on the wall documentary that makes him look stupid in his own dressing room accuses you of lacking "old school ethics" regarding the sacred seal of the dressing room, and that also sticks, you must be indiscreet indeed.
