This is pretty awesome. No doubt Cazorla's introduction had much to do with this (as did the tiring legs of Dortmund).

He was on the right wing a little too much, I thought the few times he was in the centre he skipped past the first man and took another out.

That was something that was somewhat frustrating about the game. Dortmund clearly had a venerability in the wide areas and the players that started out there were not exploiting it. We therefore had to move our best player out there to exploit it yet if we had Walcott he could have completely changed the complexion of the game by directly running at the full back. We could have been watching a completely different game with Theo causing the full backs so much fits that Dortmund might have been forced to rethink their entire pressing scheme. I remember the times we faced Barca during the height of Guardiola pressing scheme, Walcott seemed to be our best player because of the amount of damage he could cause with the space he had to run into, we really need Theo back for the next leg.

It's also worth mentioning that despite many scrutinizing Ozil's performance he still created the most chances of any player in the match and completed the most passes in the final third. His ability to retain possession while being double or triple-teamed never ceases to amaze me.

Revise the game thread and you see him being criticised.

Agree with Phato! The antidote to dortmunds pressing would have been Theo. However, they didn't press after the 35th minute.

I think Ozil was criticized because he didn't play well, he doesn't have a good record against Dortmund anyways so no surprise there.

The problem with that view is that in the context of the match, he was the most creative player.
