Did anyone else think he looked quite positive when he came on? From what I saw, he had a good first touch, passed reliably and seemed to have a feel for the team's movement, and varied his motion in the box. Dare I say, we would have been much better off starting him rather than Bendtner? This continues to be the most bizarre signing Arsene Wenger has ever made.

Anyone would have looked good coming on after Bendtner.

Agree wholeheartedly about the strangeness of the signing.

East German Gooner

With a transfer fee of 3 million quids and 25K weekly wages, the total investment for him for 3 years (pretty sure his contract is done next summer) is $6.9 million quids. Minus the 1 million quids loan wages from Celta Viga and 1 million quids of shirts we sold in Korea. Net investment is $5 million quids. He scored one goal for us against Bolton (a sweet goal I must say) and he won't play again in an Arsenal shirt barring catastrophic injury crisis. That Bolton goal was 5 million quids.

We whiffed terribly on Park. It happens. No need to count money over the deal.
