From Gilberto Silver of Gunnerblog: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1830648-breaking-down-arsenals-tactics-against-chelsea I agree that the main tactical issue was the midfield trio. Would it have been better to play the incredibly inexperienced Hayden at the base of the midfield and omit Ramsey (both in terms of rest and shape)? |

massive mistake 2 input key players into fixture knowing rest giving freshness is ultimate code 2 winning epl. wenger got caught in 2 minds & got caught out by better manager. y pollute & infect our stars with defeat? y alter mindset of winners wit back 2 back defeats against big teams. y dont manager not handle us better? y aint our coach good at risk management? will get round 2 reading long winded b report later-juat wanted 2 get dat shit off my chest...sure others voiced it but its got 2 b revoiced on dis thread. We had so many injuries to our youngsters that Wenger didn't have much choice but to field more first-team regulars than most fans wanted. Still, I would have started Hayden instead of Ramsey. I also wonder, after the last few seasons, if Wenger has grown wary of the fans' displeasure with him "throwing" competitions like this for the sake of the major honors? |

Its suicide not having a DM that would eliminate the space between our back 4 and the CM. I was thinking the same thing. Why not start Hayden. Especially after listening to Wenger say this bout Hayden “I like his strengths in the duels. He is maybe not a creative player but everything he does is intelligent. I like his intelligence and all these qualities together makes me choose him.” But then we would not have done anything going forward. Ramsey tried his best and atleast hit a few shots off target. Ah well. Glad the tournament is over. Edited by KamyFC, Oct 30 2013, 09:57 AM.

You have now explored virtually every area of blame for Wenger that there could possibly be from yesterday's match. You've exceeded even my expectations by far. |

And cruyff, considering that we have already received pointed post-match analysis from 0893, isn't this thread rather superfluous? Oh well, perhaps he'll come over here and educate us further. |
