I think this fatigue/rest issue has been a bit overblown how much rest do players really need? Last season between March and May, Chelsea were playing in 4 competitions they were for the most part playing 3 games a week and they managed to pull through. And Chelsea's depth last season is not as good as Arsenal's this season IMO.Oscar played 64 games for Chelsea in his first season in the EPL, so what's the big deal? Hazard played 62 games. We are only playing 2 matches a week and we are already getting worried of fatigue in May, the only player I think really needed to be rested was Giroud because he's the only one we've got at the moment. When the injured players return at the end of November then this lot can get their 'rest'. I understand if players need to be rested because of RISK OF INJURY, but fatigue at this stage? risk of injury should be the only reason and not tiredness.

Pizzy, fatigue and risk of injury go hand in hand. A player is much more likely to get injured when they're tired. That's what Wenger is talking about when he refers to "the red line."

massive mistake 2 input key players into fixture knowing rest giving freshness is ultimate code 2 winning epl. wenger got caught in 2 minds & got caught out by better manager. y pollute & infect our stars with defeat? y alter mindset of winners wit back 2 back defeats against big teams. y dont manager not handle us better? y aint our coach good at risk management?
will get round 2 reading long winded b report later-juat wanted 2 get dat shit off my chest...sure others voiced it but its got 2 b revoiced on dis thread.
Well its good you finally got a chance to get that off your chest.
truth betold-would rather celebrate wenger than critique him but he barely gives me a chance. aint dat sad?
...as evidenced by the fact Arsenal sit top of the table, tied for the top in their CL group (the worst group), recently signed one of the world's best players, and still you are setting some kind of posting record complaining about Wenger after a League Cup loss.

my point is these players can be fatigued yet, the season just started hence the cause of their injury at this point won't be fatigue. Infact at this stage they would be far away from being fatigued. Like I pointed out Hazard and Oscar played 62 and 64 games respectively in their first season, playing 2-3 games a week so its not unusual for players to play that amount of games.

...and, lest we forget: we're it not for Flamini's CGS there may have been a better chance against Chelsea.

In other carling cup news spurs needed penalties to beat hull city at white hart lane despite basically playing their first team, surely we have to blame the coach at some point.

Bergkamp is about to re-release his book where he says that Arsene Wenger is "a goat" and he would much rather work at Chelsea.

come on joe, chile dont clap when our manager gets man handled by his chief abuser. twas like man & boy yesterday. actually thot we topping 2 tables coz of our genius coach. those saying we top coz of easy games will b vindicated-chilli werent one of them but im now joining dat school of thot.
something bout d manager always pulls us back be it d tactics, vision, substitutes or overall inability to lift us.
yes we top & chile been happy wit dat but after yesterday im almost convinced we watching same tear jerker movie dat multiply tears into river. defeat mite have been easier 2 swallow but by playing our key players severly jeopardised mindset of winners. wenger gotto pull his weight instead of acting like novice. nobody would care if scum beat our kids or 2nd team but he just had to stain our winners wit defeat.

I don't even disagree with most of that - I think - but the reaction to this match is way over the top. Almost like whining hyenas waiting to pounce the second there is a whiff of something negative in a generally positive season.
