Wallow? So who have Arsenal's rivals signed? Who's available, and how much should the club fork over?

So every day that goes by this month is another Arsenal failure? In the words of your pal 0893, "LOL."

'Arsenal should, in theory, be better positioned that at any time over the last few years to land their targets and, even if Manchester City or Paris St Germain get involved, will be helped in any bidding war by the release clauses.'

Chilli - Telling comment in that link

"Wenger letting a good chance of the title slip through his hands again because of his dislike of buying a player when it is blatantly obvious."

hate for us 2 piss away good chance of glory by not doing wot is fucking required & needed. we gotto striker slower than snail...as napoleon once said, thunderbolt is preferred 2 canon & in our case, not only slow but misfiring canon as well. with financial fortunes changed 4 d better- really wonder y we cant bloody triggar those 2 release clauses by overbidding. giroud/bendy cant take us to promised land of trophy. gonna end in tears if we do fuck all.

So even though that link pretty much backs up everything that's been said about why it would make sense NOT to sign a striker this winter (no release clause, teams not willing to part with their players, etc.), you two have somehow spun it to be an indictment of Wenger? The narrative is sounding desperately foolish now.

Would you have Wenger overpay for a player that isn't much better than what we have? At the expense of signing somebody better this summer that would make us stronger going forward?

As much as our financial position is stronger, we're still not Chel$ea or $ity or P$G. There still is a bottom to the well.

desperately foolish huh? did you read d quote kamy or chilly posted or u simply interested in defending wenger? 2 players with release clauses would make us more dynamic & r certainly better than wot we got. overbidding for upgrade is way to clinch d title. excuses, excuses & even more excuses without 100% trying 2 better trophy drought. incredible!

You're accusing ME of being a Wengerite? Get a grip on yourself...you're thinking with your little chilly only and it's clouding your thoughts.

Did you not see this line about release clauses? "Arsenal’s pursuit of a new striker has been made more difficult this month due to the release clauses of several major targets only applying at the end of the season. " It was the very first line of the article. Or are you so interested in slamming Wenger that you conveniently overlook it? And you'd blow the whole wad by overpaying for a player now (if anyone is willing to sell...a point you continue to ignore) while limiting (or eliminating altogether) the ability to buy over the summer? Do you think that signing (and paying) a striker is all the business we have to do till summer 2015?

always next year & never this year with wengerites...always passing d buck down d road-always absolutely predictably. no need to get upset 4 being called a wengerite.

anything worthwhile is never gift wrapped as present dats y we gotto overbid. we sign either player, land d title & summer signings will b signed regardless of how much we spend in jan window.

contracts aint shit in footy if tested with big money & we is 4th richest club acting scared & afraid to throw dollars at our needs or release clauses. wenger fondly talks up other big clubs spending habits while being content prodding along on d cheap not picking up trophies. blue print for wining epl title is money & lots of it...but dats not d arsenal way. come summer we'd probably bid one dollar above release clause- dats d arsenal way dat. cant we break & cut away from failure-dats thinking with my little chilli.lol u should try it to. thanks for d laugh.

No. You mean wengerite as a term of derision. And beside that, I've never been a Wenger backer. I've just tried to be objective...and I'm not sure I've even always been that (and not in Wenger's favor).

You sound like the type to buy a BMW just out of college just because your salary says you can afford it. In the meantime, you've forgotten about your emergency fund, your repairs fund, your 'move up to a bigger/better house fund', and your retirement. What good will increasing the chance of winning the title this year do (and that's all a purchase will do...it won't guarantee a title) if it ensures we can't continue to improve for next year? It's shortsighted and doing the opposite isn't kicking the can down the road. It's preparing for the future. Not acting like a white trash lottery winner who's just looking to blow all the money before it even hits the bank account.
