very true bout d busy bee giroud. all dat defending & toiling is compensation for not scoring. his work rate is bonus we welcome but him being ineffective in front of goal affords teams more numbers coming forward 2 attack us. another striker can contribute with goals & actual fear factor making them think twice b 4 bombing forward in numbers. |

Berba is an enigma. Always has been. I'm sure he's not enjoying his time right now at Fulham and knowing his attitude, he's probably coasting. A move here would certainly brighten his move. My issue is how much does he really have in the tank? Additionally, would he even like the fact that he would be used as a backup to Giroud? Maybe Billa would know better, but I don't seem to remember Berba liking the fact he rarely started at ManU even when he was leading the team in scoring. It just sucks that there's not any guys that would make a big impact available for us to get this month. |

Very subtle by Berbatov. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151886440148526&set=pb.7232253525.-2207520000.1388697605.&type=3&theater |

Sorry Pizzyboy - i cant see any of our rivals selling us. Although we were happy to sell our stars to them few years back. So i see a month of frustration for us. |

I don't think you are anywhere near understanding this conversation. To catch you up: - everyone accepts that Berbatov isn't a prolific goal scorer - everyone accepts that Giroud plays in a way that directly makes opportunities for 5 other players - everyone accepts that Giroud is not as technically proficient as Berbatov - everyone accepts that Berbatov would have a lesser work rate Now the worst case scenario would be without the inclination to work, run and support movements by the WFs by picking Berbatov we would simply be coughing up balls over that we retain in the attacking third. The way games work out for us sometimes that's not only limiting attacking opportunities, but pressurises our defence. In this scenario we are asking Podolski and Theo to become more the providers than the false 9. The best case scenario is that the other players all adapt and figure out a way to get the ball to Berbatov who is indeed clever over 2 yards, and might be a decent passer. The hope is that he would see the move to Arsenal as a rejuvenation, and that our resident miracle worker could help him discover 6 months of a purple patch to end his career. No. You've been wrong about Bendtner the entire time. You've claimed over and over that he's not good enough to play for a team in the top half of the table. He's good enough to be adequate backup for a team like ours and to start against the bottom half teams. I've showed it multiple times but you continue to ignore it while trumpeting how *right* you are about everything on here. And yes, the Dzeko thing is getting beaten to death. How many threads do you guys need to muck up before it's beaten to death in YOUR eyes? Same with AVB. All of you arguing about it need to get over it and move on. |

But who's willing to give up their star striker in January? No one that's in with a sniff of a trophy, that's who. Costa, Suarez, Lewandowski...none of those guys are available (unless someone is willing to pay double what they're worth). January transfers nearly always cost much more than they would in summer, especially over the last few years. We have money now, but do you really see us being able to outbid someone like Chel$ea or Real if a true game changer becomes available (which won't happen anyway)? |

A point that's underrated around here. |
