How much Gigabytes are you downloading this .ISO Bit Torrent? I know you have a whole bunch of burn DVD of almost every game and from every console PS2, XBox, and Wii. You even recording Hi Def video and put on YouTube that worth 2GB per movies. I don't even see the point of you doing that since you don't make any money at all. We may get bann from Comcast again and have to go back to the crappy Clearwire. I even saw a folder of download and it worth about 25GB, that is a lot of Bandwidth usage. While it seam to be more bandwidth left, just know we have a thousand computer hogging bandwidth, dad streaming movies all the time, khen streaming youtube, then dad he even hook up this crappy satellite crap that poke a hole in my windows go get an Ethernet line going all the way down stair. I download 2 movies per weeks to watch around 445MB each, and only if I'm really bored and I still think that a lot already. There is even one time Comcast completely shut us down for one straight hour. I think they are planning to cut us off. It feel like an Internet Cafe in the house running 24/7. The internet has been really screwed up lately. SOMETHING has to be wrong. It's never been like this. I'll be really screwed over if Comcast shuts us down, so PLEASE don't stream or download all the time. If you're not doing it, just take precautions. Think of others! |

And that is another reason why I need to change the Wireless Security to WPA instead of WEP. WEP is standard and people can easily get into even if it password protected since it is static. I'm changing it soon, just don't have time to setup dad computer first to see if it work yet, then all will be change. Maybe it will be better. Oh and how I hate dad have to use this crappy Linksys Router with a buiilt-in home phone, it crap and we never use the phone. And yeah be careful of what you download or streaming, Comcast is the ONLY cable Internet in our area. We are screwed if anything happen. |

First and foremost, you are blowing things out of proportion. I absolutely do NOT have every Wii, Xbox and PS2 game. As a matter of fact, all I recently downloaded was around 5 console games total in the course of a YEAR. That is like 20GB bandwidth per year. If you don't believe me go check out how many Wii and Xbox 360 burnt games I have. PS2 games were a lot I admit, but that was like what, 3-4 years ago and I haven't downloaded even one PS2 game now. Whatever that folder is probably that big because when you download something you also have to unpack it from the rar files and the rar files don't get deleted in the process, so take in consideration that is double the file size per game. If you're talking about the games folder in My Book, that is a collection of all the games downloaded -- so that 25GB whatever is within the span of 3-4 years. Regarding YouTube, I don't even upload videos anymore. So I don't even know why you are putting that in the discussion. Even when I am, I already said I only upload less than a couple gigs per week. So relax, I know the dangers of losing Comcast. You don't need to repeat yourself cause there is a topic just like this one you made awhile ago and I answered it. I am doing my best to maintain low to adequate bandwidth while still utilizing the high speed connection, I don't know about you guys though. And yes, the internet has a bit wonky lately. It's not SLOW at all, but I keep getting disconnected on and off especially when playing online games. Other than that though it seems perfectly fine to me. I don't know if the constant disconnecting is related to Comcast limiting us or just giving us their crappy service (like they sometimes do). If you feel the need to change it to WPA then go ahead, it's just fieng to have to setup every computer all over again when there is like a hundred in the house. Edited by Caim, Jun 9 2010, 04:11 PM.

First this post is not blaming everything on one person here since I say in the post it's everyone basicly, I even mention myself what I'm doing, so this post need to be address and take into seriously note. Reason I brought it up again is I need to know and see what everyone been using and not abusing the Bandwidth. And to make sure we don't get Ban. Think 3 times they wouldn't even let us come back. The Internet have been cutting off a lot lately! Even on Ethernet! No blinking light from Cable Modem all of a sudden. Resetting Cable Modem and Router a couple time it doesn't even come back. This is exactly what happen when we got Terminated by Comcast TWICE! So that's why I'm concern, what if one day you find out resetting the Cable Modem and Router doesn't make the Internet come back? |

Some shit is probably stealing bandwidth. It's Skyway... nobody cares about stealing you out of your home. OMFG. Do you know how long it took me to send one email? From 5 AM to 9 AM. WTF?! Edited by Kraust, Jun 11 2010, 08:35 AM.

But making the topic title as "Torrent Games Download" makes it seems you are mostly addressing me... If everyone isn't consuming loads of bandwidth and no one is hijacking our internet, you can't take out the possibility that it might just be Comcast service screwing up. I remember hundreds of times the internet was just cut off for no reason then it magically came back on again like a day later WAAY before the first ban started. I remember you even called one time and Comcast just said it was their fault. Well the internet is back to normal now so I guess that's a good thing, and the Comcast month is nearly over. I say if it still keeps screwing up go ahead and change it to WPA and see what happens. |

Well when I see a 30GB Folder but I know you told me it unrar some stuff in there so it not exactly 30GB, but there some 6GB DVD Torrent going on, then I turn on Dad Laptop I see another 5 - 6GB Torrent going on, one is stop at certain percent then another same one going again, I have to address it. Also today I see a 6GB Soul Calibur Torrent as well. I don't know, but it just seam a lot of bandwidth going on and I'm just trying to be careful. Comcast count upload speed as Bandwidth too, so 1 6GB Torrent will be almost 8GB when it. Dad streaming movie straight through the whole day consume a lot too, I think on weekend he consume 100GB. |

The torrent on dad's computer already finished like a month ago. There was only one that was in the gigs, all the rest were small crap like several kb or mb. The Soul Calibur one I added like several weeks ago and I don't plan on finishing it anytime soon. In fact you can just delete it. The only other recent thing I torrented on your computer was the Monster Hunter one, which was about 4GB. Other than that I didn't torrent anything big for months. Like I said, don't worry about what I'm doing. I want to keep Comcast as anyone else does. I think you are just jumping too fast to conclusions thinking I'm torrenting hundreds of gigs when it's barely like 20GB per month. Go check the dates of the torrents if you want and add up everything and you'll see. |

Think you shouldn't download Torrent games anymore, there have been now 2 Claim of Copyrighted caught by Comcast. Silent Hill for the Wii and Fable for XBox 360. They are tracing the IP Address and if they wanted too, they can actually send you a letter and make you pay thousand of dollar if they wanted too. They already have the evident all right there and your address. I think it is just too risky and not only that it waste so much Bandwidth. If you must get a Game though I can help you download it at the shop, but only a few games every few month since it still not safe. Maybe there some way to stealth the download or hide your IP Address when seeding or downloading but I think just not download at all anymore, it very risky now and they taking pirating seriously. They monitor it very closely. They will Terminate Comcast Account, but also they will be after the person downloading this. You will get a large sum of fine and go to Jail. Just like PS3 is putting people in Jail for pirating. Edited by Daiketsu, Oct 24 2011, 07:34 PM.
