No it's not just game already have, I'm going to try and add every game or every popular game. So no it's not games we already have otherwise it would be pointless and waste of bandwidth.

It's all done including games. Dynasty Warriors 7 was left out however since you have to ftp it from PC to PS3 and that consumes 20GB of unnecessary bandwidth.

I installed 2 new games Demon's Souls and Resonance of Fate. Let me know how they are, especially Demon's Souls. Haven't played either yet.

You should buy a new external HD for PS3 games.

I'm buying a 1TB Western Digital My Passport soon to store all the games in it.

Mortal Kombat crap say that the game required Firmware version 3.56 to play, it ask me if I want to alter some PS3 directory crap to play and sh.it. Since it didn't ask for Firmware 3.56 I click "Yes" I still can't play it. But after install the patch it work just fine now. I check my PS3 and Firmware is still version 3.5. This is still ok right? Or should I return it and get another PS3?? But have to do this sh.it for the 3rd times, but only need Multi - Man of course. Seam to still play backup game just fine though. Stupid Mortal Kombat crap, worst game ever!

Yeah it's fine, all that does is basically patch a file in the game to make it able to run on 3.55 (since the game requires 3.56). It doesn't change or modify your system firmware at all, only the game files. Remember that Multiman will never ask or do anything that causes you to lose the ability to play backups. Just don't update the system firmware higher than 3.55 and you'll be fine.

If Mortal Kombat sucks that bad, why do you want to play it? :huh:

Mortal Kombat is alright if you know how to play it, MK Ultimate is still the best though.

Anyway, I sign up for Gamefly 2 games out at once for $22 a month. I also bought a 1TB Hard Drive for $100. If there is any games you guy want me to rent let me know. I will add it to the list and copy it.

Well here's a list of PS3 games I was hoping to get a hold of. It's pretty much like a best selection of games out of the entire PS3 library.

* Saints Row 2
* Bayonetta
* Valkyria Chronicles
* Fallout 3
* Heavenly Sword
* Gran Turismo 5
* Tales of Vesperia
* Final Fantasy XIII
* X-Blades
* Dead Rising 2
* Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
* Trinity Souls of Zill Oll
* Silent Hill Homecoming
* Eternal Sonata
* Star Ocean: The Last Hope International
* LittleBigPlanet 2
* Assassin's Creed II
* Wet
* Devil May Cry 4
* Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes
* BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
* Red Dead Redemption
* Super Street Fighter IV
* Tekken 6
* Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
* Dead Space 2
* Disgaea 4
* Dragon Age II
* Call of Duty: Black Ops
* Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
* Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce

I was gonna list some Japanese only PS3 games, however it's too bad you can only rent USA games from Gamefly.

Btw I've installed Saints Row 2 on the PS3 but it seems like the version I got was corrupted since it wouldn't play. Anyways, I highly recommend you give this a game a try if you like free roam games or GTA. Hell I didn't even like GTA at all and I loved this game. It may not be as realistic and the graphics may be inferior to GTA IV, but at least you can customize your own character and not run around as an ugly as hell caveman looking guy. It's also more fun and you can do a lot more activities than GTA IV. With the 360 version I could even put in my own soundtrack so I could play my own music in the game when playing. http://www.destructoid.com/ten-reasons-why-saints-row-2-is-better-than-grand-theft-auto-iv-109687.phtml

Grand Theft Auto IV Graphic already look outdated and horrible on the PS3, I watch Saint Row 2 on PS3 and the graphic is even worst then Grand Theft Auto IV. Grand Theft Auto IV wasn't even that fun, the camera is god awful, it constantly go everywhere and zoom down epsecially when driving car. While the scenery is huge and a lot of thing to do, most of the mission is the same crap over and over again. Fun at first, but game get bored quickly.

I'll be checking those games you listed on Gamefly, most of the game you list is pre-order though. Think I won't stick around Gamefly that long. It is very expensive, almost $25 for 2 games out at a time. Take almost a week to get here, then return, it like you are getting rip off because of the long wait. You be in 1 month in no time at all.

BTW can you tell me how to re-install Multi - Man if it necessary in the future I need to erased my PS3 Hard Drive? I think my PS3 Hard Drive may be acting up. Multi Man become unknown files then now it back to Multi Man again. Also Grand Theft Auto IV suddenly wouldn't load have to be re-install.

Saints Row 2 is fun, GTA IV is boring since it tries to be realistic simulation. There are more fun things you can do in Saints Row 2 that you can't in GTA IV, plus you can customize character, clothes and crib (this part is very addictive). I thought the graphics were decent, graphics aren't everything. I already put almost 50 hours in the game.

Gamefly rip-off maybe, but still saves a lot of bandwidth. Considering getting games at $60 each and paying only $25 a month it isn't a really a rip off though. You may want to switch to 1 game at a time though.

If you want to format the hd just go to system settings and format it, then reinstall the Multiman packages. There's no need to reinstall custom firmware since formatting the hd won't erase the firmware cause it's stored on memory inside the PS3.

Files for multiman:
Multiman 1.17.04 Base
BDEMU (required for Multiman)
OpenPS3Ftp 1.5 (to FTP games that have single files larger than 4GB to PS3)

Instructions:

  1. Format internal hd using system settings.
  2. Put all the download packages (.pkg) above in the root of external usb hd.
  3. Go to Install Packages and install all packages one by one.
  4. Multiman is then fully installed and ready for usage.

Btw, make sure you don't cover the ventilation holes on the PS3. I noticed you put a cloth over it to keep it new, but if you cover the holes it may overheat and cause failure and other things.

YOU CANNOT LAUNCH GAMES WITH SPLIT BIG FILES!

TRANSFER THE GAME TO INTERNAL HDD AND TRY AGAIN.

WHY!!?? WHY WOULD I WANT TO DO THIS? THE INTERNAL HARD DRIVE OF PS3 IS TINY AND DID I BUY THE 1TB EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE FOR NOTHING?

Wow relax, splitting is only required for certain games that have individual files larger than 4GB that can't be stored on FAT32 format.
Very few amount of games have individual files larger than 4GB.
Since the >4GB files can't be copied to FAT32 format, they need to be split into separate files when copying to external hd.
The PS3 can't read split files so Multiman has to join the files back to the internal hd in order to play. This is the way it's supposed to work.

If you transfer all your current games to the external hd already, then you should still have lots of space to store these kind of games.

So no, the 1TB external hd is definitely needed and not useless at all since only a few games need splitting.

Here is a list of pretty much all PS3 games backup compatibility. It will tell you which games can be played on external/internal. Also tells you other stuff like if the game needs patching.
http://www.pshomebrew.net/wiki/PS3_Backup_Compatibility_List

Another option is you can always buy a new internal hard drive for the PS3 and go internal only, it's very easy to replace. It takes the same hard drive as laptops, I think 2.5" SATA. The MyPassport might even use 2.5" SATA, you can open it and swap it with the PS3 internal hard drive. However I think WD uses a new type of soldered usb connector now so people won't rip their enclosures apart and stealing the drives.

Replacing the internal hd may require you to reinstall the firmware, but this is easy.

Wow check it out, I should have get this instead...

http://cgi.ebay.com/Western-Digital-WD10TPVT-1TB-SATA-Laptop-Hard-Drive-/360351372643?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53e69d9563

PS3 use same SATA Hard Drive as Laptop Hard Drive. This one will work. It cheap too. But I guess I will stick with the External one since it is portable and if not all game need to be install Internally. And I doubt you can reset the firmware that easierly by just installing a new Hard Drive. Firmware are usually flash into the rom chips, it install install the chip of the PS3. There is no going back, learn that the hard way :angry:

Yeah I am 100% sure you can't change firmware just by swapping hd. From what I heard though half of the firmware is stored on the memory inside PS3 and other half on the hd, that's probably why you need to reinstall (the same) firmware when you switch to a new hd.

I recommend you stick with external as well since you already bought one. People say internal hd bigger than 640GB lags the PS3 too.

So many PS3 Games doesn't work or have problem on External USB Drive that make me regret getting an External USB Drive.

Do you have problem playing Heavy Rain on External USB Hard Drive? Game load and everything, but got stuck when the game install. No progress at all forever. Then when you quit the game, the whole PS3 Restart itself. WTF!? My PS3 Internal now is getting low and all the low chance of getting PS3 Games to work on External USB Hard Drive is getting frustrating.

You can play Heavy Rain through external usb hd, but you have to install it to internal hd first so the game can install the required data or else you get frozen loading screen.

So copy the game to internal hd temporarily, run it and after it's done installing all the data you can delete it off from internal hd and transfer back to external and play from there.

Also make sure you delete all Heavy Rain game files (game data and save data) before you try to run the game first game or else it will fail to install the data.

I gave you the list of all PS3 games compatibility. If you bothered to look at it most games can run off external usb hd and very few of them need internal. Some games don't even work on internal so that's why an external may be better.

I now also have Block Buster unlimited games Rental for $24 a month. This is one game out, work better then stupid Gamefly because it is close and I can take in game back and fourth right away when I done copying it. Otherwise they charge $16 every 2 games out.

Gamefly is so god damn gay right now! Most of the rare and good games even with High Availibity they never ship! It take them almost a weeks to go through the que and pick the game I want and ship it out, then another 3 - 4 days to get it. I heard of people stealing game and lost game too. I only sign them up for rare and hard to find games, but it doesn't look like they can ship this kind of game out too. So gonna Cancel after this month is up.
