Yeah I always run through abgx before burning it to DVD. Should I run it at Level 2 or Level 3. Here it get confusing, I heard people running at at Level 3 to make sure it patch it, sometime Level 2 return error.

The Verbatim is 8x and I check the back it is made in Singapore just like you said, so I don't think it the Verbatim DVD. And why you burn it at such fast speed? Isn't it better to burn at slow speed 2x?

If you never use online and XBox Live, you can use not official XBox hard drive right? Why XBox have to be so gay, have to use their crappy Hard Drive. I watch some YouTube it still just a Western Digital Hard Drive in there. 250GB is $149. That pretty lame considering 1TB is $89.

Yeah you should run it at level 3.

The Verbatims I use is 6x not 8x, so there might be a difference. I also got 6x Made in Singapore Verbatims but they end being bad and causing games to not work and freeze. Turns out it was just a defective set and I got replacement and they work fine. So even if you do get Made in Singapore Verbatims they can be bad too.

When I said 12x I meant the DVD drive on the 360 is running at 12x speed. You always want to burn at 2.4x or 4x. Also, if the game freezes and not load up, try burning at 4x instead of 2.4x. Don't go past 4x though or you will get coaster.

I wouldn't risk using unofficial hd even offline, because Microsoft can still detect you cause they log everything offline. Why would you want 250GB though? 120GB is more than enough to hold around 18 games. You only want to install games to make them run faster and not make DVD noise, not try to install every single game in your collection on it. That's why I said install games you CURRENTLY play only, then when you're done playing them and out of space just delete those games and install new ones.
