No, DV on a Mac would require an emulator, and there is iDevice emulator at the moment. Even if there was an emulator;
1) emulating wifi on an idevice would be hard
2) making it compatible with all apps would be hard
3) it would be super slow, even emulating something like DS requires a computer with super specs.
4) even if an emulator existed, they don't necessarily work on a Mac. Windows is a much more popular choice for devs.
5) Legality issues.
you can't give dragon cash to friends.

Ummm, swablueme, don't you know about Apple's Mac App Store? I think he's asking whether they're gonna make it on the Mac App Store. Stuff like Angry Birds is there... but I don't think there'll be DragonVale. It's basically like the the other App stores except there are different apps - I don't think there are any iPhone + Mac universal apps, but several developers have released a Mac version of their app.

@neilp: You can't gift DragonCash or gems apart from the free daily gifts (only gems). So if I was your friend I couldn't give you 50 gems of my gems at once and it'd be impossible for me to give you DragonCash. The free daily gifts don't deduct from your gem count.

 With mountain lion there will be gamecentre, so yes I think DV will be able to play on mac
