Opal Dragon; Mud + Lava

DragginDragon

So on Monday, we will be hitting the halfway point for gemstone dragons! I'm hoping for a pretty awesome dragon, especially excited for what it's egg and design will look like. Any guesses on what the combo will be? Mud seems to be a popular choice in the other thread and I agree completely.

Mud + Poison.

Although it could be the new Water + Earth combo that's going to be released tomorrow ... plus Poison. ;-)

Okay, I thought you were speculating about them releasing a new dragon today in the other thread, but here you seem pretty darn sure. You looking at game files or something? I really don't want another new dragon right now, and I'll be mad if it's needed to breed the new gemstone.

Didn't they release Rain at least 2 weeks in advance of Sapphire coming out? We only have 3 days til October is here.

Oh Backflip, please give us a break! ;)

Mud & Flower.

I have a feeling BFS is not so foolish as to release a new hybrid in the next couple days that is needed for this month's gemstone. After all, they have many users right now who are very upset b/c of all the limiteds this month. Releasing a new dragon that is a parent for opal would be the proverbial straw that breaks the camels' backs. I believe there are many people who would quit the game if that happened. I'm not saying that any of us on this forum would, but there are many other upset people out there, and if they quit, that could result in a significant loss of income for BFS. I imagine that BFS knows this, and would not make such a foolish business decision.

If they're going to release a dragon today, let it be a common dragon. I'm all for making my egg grid look better! It's looking good, but I've got those spots to fill in... another epic would make me weep silently in my cubicle...

I've never been good at guessing the combos, so I usually trust everyone else's guesses. It's always up in the air until the design is released. I just hope they pull it off this time, Opal could be really sweet.

Well, if the combo does end up being either Mud + Poison or Mud + Flower and they do release the other water/earth counterpart, then at least the new dragon would be a possible "fail" of the Opal. Thus sort of killing two birds with one stone. That would be totally fine with me!

Nah, I'm just speculating. But I have faith in my convictions.

Like it would be the same combo for all Gem Dragons.
Like they would never reuse a dragon in a Gem Combo
Like Gem Combos would always have 4 elements
Like Gem Combos would never use an uncommon dragon.

Was 100% sure on all of these until I was proven wrong. :D

@ Fletch, haha. I'm in the same boat. It's good to have faith in your convictions...until they are proven wrong. For me it was, they would not use a rain dragon in the combo 2-3 weeks after they introduced it. Apparently neither of us has penetrated the BFS method of reasoning.

Thought all of this was going to be 100% correct.
This is what i thought, exept i thought they would never use opposite elements instead of no uncommon in the mix.
Be patient...or not.

I have a theory about how BFS's reasoning...

"People say we can't use the same dragon twice for Gemstones. Hah! Oh, you think there will always be four elements? We'll see about that. Uncommons won't be in the combination? Keep thinking that, see how far it gets you. Rain was only released last week? Hope you bred one then!"

Of course, they are all collectively cackling and drumming their fingertips together.

@ lemmyLoop I think you've got them pegged. I never thought they were cruel until this month. Now, I think they might be. I'll add to your depiction of them...

"Ha, we've got them addicted. There's no way they're going to let dragons slip through their fingers now. Let's force them to spend lots of gems to acheive their goals. (evil laughter)"

Oh I fervently believe they wouldn't use an opposite dragon in the mix. I need to check when they changed the rules of Uncommons to be just in the mix with 3 or more elements amongst the parents. I'm guessing they changed that before, or as, they required Rain to breed Sapphire. But to require a dragon with a 10% chance of breeding would be harsh. I'm certain they wouldn't use one of those ... right up until they do.
