My word from the wizard no longer says limited, but I'm positive it did. I wish I had taken a screenshot so that I could either prove I'm not crazy or prove that I am. :)

I don't think you're crazy, Wapatango. : )
By the way, congrats to your mom for getting a double on her first try!
I can't even get one in my test account!! This thing is really rare.

@ Ruffian Thanks. :) As for its rarity, hopefully we'll all get one before winter comes in the northern hemisphere. :/

@magpac. A huge congrats on your fantastic success. I hope we will all have a similar experience. I did not get pearl or a double on my last attempt. Instead I got a 39 hour. I'm glad kairos is almost available.

This morning I got my 2nd and 3rd rainbow fails while trying for double rainbows. These things are worse than Crystals!

Just made this post over at the DragonVale Community forum and wanted to share it here, too.

Some interesting info - are all 4 element breeding combos equal? Both Fletch and Tricia reported quick success using Love+Salamander to get their Double Rainbows, which got me wondering because it took Manahmanah 291 tries and 355 for me to get 1 DR. Is there a difference in pairs?

Firefly+Seaweed (L/F+W/P)
291 - Manahmanah
355 - Pixie
646 - total breeds
2 - Double Rainbows
.03%

Love+Salamander (L/P/F+F/W)
200 - breeds
6 - Double Rainbows
3%

Hmmmmmm.........Small samples, but makes one wonder.

Is some more testing warranted based on these numbers? Are the odds better if a 3 element limited is included?

The problem with those two big numbers is that you are stopping when you get your first dragon. Would you have reported those numbers too if you have gotten it at your 10th try? People are more likely to report higher numbers (and first try of course) than lower numbers when trying for one dragon. And indeed those are low numbers for this kind of % ;)

I'm lost with all the math, lol. So, how long should I have continued to test past the 355th final successful breeding to be useful info? Am also aware it should be .3% for the first group. :)

The other group needs to go further first to match the amount of tests that you all did. There were a total of 1294 Firefly + Seaweed tests. There were only 206 Love + Salamander tests. There need to be more than 1000 additional Love + Salamander tests to match that number first. 1000ish tests is still quite low for something with an apparent occurrence rate of <1%, but we're all human and nobody has *that* much free time so I think that would be a decent test goal to shoot towards.

Thanks for the response. I understand better now.

I am breeding Slamander and Love...

Failed 13 times so far...per the percentages on the Sandbox...I have about 186 fails left....this is the rarest dragon ever.

Rounded out both pairs so they are even. The follow is what has tested out so far, and plan to continue testing.

Love+Salamander
650 breeds - 16 regular Rainbow - 11 Double Rainbow

Seaweed+Firefly
650 breeds - 15 regular Rainbow - 2 Double Rainbow

Pixie - I just thought of one more thing. Can you verify that all the dragons that you are using are exactly the same level? We don't know by how much the level 15+ dragons affect the outcomes, so it's best to keep things consistent.

Thanks for doing all the tests.

291 of the 650 Seaweed+Firefly were bred by Manahmanah, so will check to see what level were used.

All the rest were bred on the upgraded island with under 15 dragons.

I just saw Manahmanah's post on the DV community site. He used level 10 dragons on the island, so the results can be combined.

I'm betting it will be the rarest dragon ever also. It's cost in gems is certainly the highest I can remember, although maybe I'm wrong--there are lots of people on this forum with much more DV experience than me.
