The initial question was do limited dragons, i.e. Love+Salamander, give a better chance at producing a Double Rainbow over non-limited dragons, i.e. Seaweed+Firefly. Got some interesting outcomes from the testing that actually makes me want to do additional testing. This sample seems to give quite an edge to using Limited dragons for breeding Double Rainbow dragons. But, is it specific to the Love+Salamander limited combo?

It seemed stunning breeding 1,000 each of Level 12, and 1,000 each of Level 20 Seaweed+Firefly could produce exactly the same Rainbow/Double Rainbow results.

So, 2 questions.
1. Would an additional 1,000 of each category produce the same results?
2. Would using different sets of Limited/Non-limited dragons produce similar results?

What would you like the next step to be?

I would like to point out that Salamander is NOT a limited dragon. It is permanent. So, does that skew the first set of tests? Maybe using Love + Panlong (both limiteds) would be more accurrate for testing that first question?

However, you have definitely answered one question for me and that is that it doesn't make one bit of difference whether you use a low level dragon or a level 20 dragon to breed for rares. The difference is so miniscule. Don't know if anyone else feels the same way.

I say do a thousand more of the same first. Because if the results even out, you can be done testing. Thanks for doing the work and for sharing the results. The results are definitely surprising.

Thank you Pixie for testing and posting the results. I can conclude the followings from your results:
1. No significant difference between 1000 breedings of lvl 12 dragons and 1000 breedings of lvl 20 means the sample size of 1000 is large enough and higher lvl dragons don't help for this case. So there is no need to repeat breedings using the same pair.
2. Using 1 limited dragon can almost double the chance of breeding DR.

From these, I would recommend trying 1000 breedings using two limited dragons such as Love+Bouquet to see if the chance for DR is higher.

Using 2 Limiteds would definitely be another version. Guess I should have stated using one Limited.

Had expected to see some sort of evidence using Level 20 dragons would increase odds, but it just isn't there.

Oh wow, thanks for all the testing Pixie! Hope you're not suffering from Dragon Tap Syndrome.

Impressive testing, Pixie! It would be interesting to see results from two limited dragons, as suggested. Do you have a squadron of elves to tap for you?

Thanks everyone. Thanks goes to ManahManah for his testing numbers, and to the test acct owner for letting me play while he sleeps.

Thanks for the suggestions, will let you know when there are more numbers to report.

It is something quiet I can do when hubby falls asleep in the chair next to me. So far the only negative effect has been I think I sold one of my Bearded dragons in my personal account, out of habit from testing. Oops! Hope it doesn't take too long to get another one.

Wow I am VERY surprised by the Pixie's tests.
I guess the next step would be testing Love and Bouquet.

The one thing all this testing has helped me figure out is that it is probably going to take me a long time to get a Double Rainbow!!!!

Posting most recent test results. Evidently the limited Love dragon isn't the magic component.
