That was my guess, because air didn't sound right. Maybe I will start breeding plant & scoria/iron so that I can also work on my ironwood goal...after my two crystal fails for amber finish that is. Well, I only have to wait for one to finish, since I will continue to try for the limited amber.

I was kind of hoping for a new challenging combo when Amber came out. Now they added this hint system. :( Kinda bummed out.

:( I'm Sorry Womantrarae.

Hmmm, since I still need an Electrum dragon, I guess I will try Magnetic + Iron and see which one I get first. :O

IS it better to have only 2 fail options (Using Iron + Scoria) with the possibility of getting bronze, or is it better to use Iron + Air for less fail times, but more failure options?

Iron + Air.

The chances of Bronze stay at 3% no matter how many other dragons that are possible from the mix, so you might as well attempt to lower the average times of the dragons you'd get if you failed at getting bronze.

Got one on second try with Air/Iron (both level 15) on the EBI.

I would say raise the number of target dragons. For instance, I have a goal for ironwood, so I plan to use plant & scoria. The average time might go up, but it will allow me to work on them together, thus lowering the overall number of times I have to breed with metal dragons. Especially when trying for permanent dragons, I think this is the best plan.

I agree with wapa, unless you don't need any of the fails or it is a limited dragon. And if you just want to know the quickest way http://www.2084.org/dragonvale/breeding-sandbox/ is perfect for that, if you go to combo finder and type in bronze dragon you will see that iron + air is quicker than iron + scoria.
